Man, we are crushing the Cavs!!! Heck, I don't care if this is just the 1st game of preseason, this is what I want to see!!!
Not one person is really having a big game, but there are a bunch of guys who have nice stats. Gerald has 14 pts on 7-9 shooting. Perkins scores 10 pts in just 6 minutes. Al has 9 pts and 2 blocks in just 2 minutes. Olowokandi is making an argument to stay by pulling down a team high 10 boards. Rajon has an all around game with 9 pts, 7 assts, 5 boards and 4 steals.
But still, 20 TO's are just way too many.

The Cavs announcers have been talking a lot about Rondo and they feel he will be our starter. They mentioned how he played under control and that he did just about everything out there and I agree. He was the player of the game in my opinion.

Had it not been for a late run by the Cavs, we should have held them to under 85 pts.
FL, my impression from reading your game calling is that Telfair may have been pressing. Was that the case?

He was the player of the game in my opinion. Can't argue his stats (11pts, 8 assts, 5 rebs, 4 stls). This kid is truly amazing. He's got a ton of abilities. Many people will wonder how he slipped to 21 and everyone will be amazed how Ainge was able to finagle him. What a steal for us.

Bassy was pressing on defense but I think he was trying too hard, though. He turned the ball over too much and seemed to be playing out of control.

Rajon Rondo wins the Tommy Award. Doc said that Telfair was trying to run the show rather than trying to play at our pace. Doc feels that putting Rondo and Telfair on the floor together changed the game. He thought all our bigs played well.

I think Telfair is going to have to learn how to relax and let the game come to him. It could be the pressure he feels on him to succeed now that he's in a new place, making a fresh start. I'm looking for him to make the adjustment and play more in control. He seemed like he pushed the ball up the floor well, though.

Kandi was surprising and played very well. he played with a lot of energy and crashed the boards and fought for loose balls. He had 10 rebounds. I didn't get to see much of Perk because most of his 16 minutes were in the first half when I was between the FSN feed and the LP feed but he had 10 points and 7 rebounds in only 16 minutes. Al only played 12 minutes but looked good in the time i saw him.

Donny Marshall said that by the end of the season Gerald Green will be the #2 scoring option on this team ahead of Wally. He did great tonight with 14 points 6 rebounds and 3 steals.

Great way to start the pre-season. I'm especially happy about out-rebounding our opponent -- like the good old days. Seems like Kandi really wants to make the roster. And Rondo has thrown his hat into the fight for a starting pg position. Good times.

The 20 TOs is too high. However, worth remembering that this is a team new to each other, and they had fewer than Cleveland did, although Cl had a more verteran team of players who had been together,.
The 20, while more than we want, was still not as high as some games during last season.
Wonder how many As Telfair lost because his spot-up shooter missed the shot.

Interesting. Most minutes went to Rondo and GG, at 35.Way ahead of anyone else.

I highly doubt that Rajon is going to be sent down. He's ready to play at this level, and has a real chance to beat out Telfair for the starting nod. Telfair needs to really play his best to keep Rondo off his tail. I think Bassy is up to the challenge, but so is Rajon. I love this competition!! They also seemed to work well together.
Wally was missing a lot of kick out shots. That's going to be a big part of our offense and I hope he's just rusty because if he can't hit those gimme's, Doc has to find someone who will.
I've seen some of the highlights from tonight's game, and Gerald has indeed added some upperbody strength. He's looking good, and he got his token dunk highights as well. If he continues to score like this, he's going to be our instant offense off the bench.
