What's going on--why don't they play Dwayne Jones?

I would like for Telfair to get a chance. We don't need AI.
Give this kid a chance.

Score at the half is Boston 60 and Toronto 39. Nothing up on the Draft Express as far as a half time update yet. Looks like our kids woke up .... And this game will be on NBA TV on Saturday.

95-49 after three quarters.
I guess we're playing some defense as well!

I"m so glad that the team came back strong after a lackluster loss to the Clippers. Hopefully, they can keep playing this well for the rest of the week.
I'm also glad that we are having a dominant game in the game that they are going to televise this saturday.

Box scores are finally up. *game recap www.vegassummerleague.com/game_recap.cfm?game=74Leon Powe (16 mins): 11 pts (3-5, 5-6), 5 rebs, 1 steal Ryan Gomes (24 mins): 22 pts (7-9, 8-8), 9 rebs. 1 steal Gerald Green (24 mins): 23 pts (8-12, 6-7), 4 rebs, 2 steals Al Jefferson (25 mins): 8 pts (3-5, 2-3), 9 rebs, 1 block Rajon Rondo (25 mins): 13 pts (5-5, 3-4), 1 rebs, 6 assts, 1 block, 1 steal Allan Ray (25 mins): 18 pts (7-11, 3-5), 1 reb, 1 assts, 1 block, 2 steals Dwayne Jones (9 mins): 2 pts (0-1, 2-6), 2 rebs Sebastian Telfair (26 mins): 9 pts (1-6, 6-6), 3 rebs, 10 assts. 1 steal As a team, we shot 60% from the field, collected 36 rebounds, and had 20 assists, 9 steals, and 4 blocks. We gave up 11 turnovers, but forced the Raptors to commit 21. Really good game. Telfair and Rajon combined for 16 of the team's 20 assists. Gerald had a breakout game. Gomes had another really solid game, and Allan Ray is really making a push to make the parent team. Al Jefferson had another invisible game. He only attempted 5 shots (tied with Rondo for the fewest among the starters), so this sort of indicates he was either kicking a lot of passes out, or the ball wasn't coming into the post.

I wonder if the move to Center has been a reason why Jefferson is invisible? Surprising that Tony Brown sees no use in letting Dwayne Jones play. I mean, he's the other legitimate Center we have on our summer league team, but he gets no burn time on the court.

Here is Gabe Kahn's recap from Celtics Blog
Celtics erupt with a 111-62 victory over Toronto. I don't think Draft Express is doing the recaps because none were posted yesterday and I don't see one posted for this game yet. By Gabe Kahn
LAS VEGAS- After getting their clocks cleaned by the Clippers on Sunday night and their commitment questioned by summer league coach Tony Brown, the Celtics came out with a new found intensity not yet seen out of them at the Las Vegas Summer League.
The C’s did their best to prove that Sunday night was a fluke and streaked out to a 27-11 lead against the Toronto Raptors, then increased their lead to a whopping 50 points before finally finishing off the embarrassed Raps by a score of 111-62.
Following 16-point loss to a Clipper squad largely bereft of NBA talent, even by Summer League standards, the Celtics raced to a 31 point lead at halftime with energy on the offensive and defensive end that was conspicuously absent this past weekend. While not especially deep, the Raptors team includes such NBA “vets” as Samaki Walker, Pape Sow, newly acquired Kris Humphries and Joey Graham, to go with the first overall draft pick Andrea Bargnani.
Following the disaster against the Clips, Brown said that if his troops continued to display that kind of lackadaisical effort, they wouldn’t make the club come October. That may have been the wake up call they needed because they came out with guns blazing and never looked back. Was this the kind of effort he was talking about?
“Absolutely. Absolutely. I thought we made the extra pass tonight. We executed our plays and defensively we upped the pressure,” the coach said. “Everybody was ready to play on the defensive end whereas before we relaxed and we were always a step late. Today was a much better effort.”
The Celtics were led by Gerald Green who scored 23 points. New point guard Sebastian Telfair again looked good scoring 9 points and dishing out 10 assists, although he can probably thank the scorekeeper at least a few times for that low number.
In front of a Celtics’ contingent that included Danny Ainge, Doc Rivers, Chris Wallace and John “Brain Doctor” Niednagel, the Summer League team showed off an array fast breaks, alley oops, and outside shooting, highlighted by Telfair’s between the legs pass to a streaking Green who laid down a thunderous dunk with 3:43 left in the third period. It may have been the most spectacular play the Celtics have had since coming to Sin City three years ago.
Telfair explained the play as follows: “I was just trying to get the attention off of me with the ball and get my guy open and I threw it through my legs. Gerald Green came and made a great basket.”
Green had this to say: “I’ve gotten some [passes] but none like that!”
To the relief of the Celtics’ brass, Al Jefferson finally showed a bit of what everyone has been waiting for with a good, controlled game. He had 8 points and 9 rebounds, although he didn’t have that many chances to get the ball down low given how easily the C’s scored almost every trip down the floor. Still, he looked comfortable for the first time in a while, which was at the very least, encouraging.
“I came out with the mindset of defense first and I felt comfortable,” he said. In regards to his sprained right ankle he said, “It’s a little sore but I still played good. It’s gonna be gone by the summer. When training camp comes, there ain’t gonna be no more problem. Trust me.”
Ryan Gomes looked good once again, scoring 22 points to go with 9 boards. Celtics’ rookie Rajon Rondo had a nice overall game with 13 points, 6 assists and another above average defensive effort (and 8 fouls). Allan Ray helped his cause to remain on the roster with 18 points, almost all coming from the outside. The Raptors were led by Graham who scored 20 points. Bargnani had 10 points on 2-7 shooting to with 2 rebounds and, ahem, 7 personal fouls.

I'd like to read about Green hitting some jumpers. Sure as hell hope his scoring didn't come from a whole bunch of dunks.
Wonder if Allen Ray may be a Jerry Sichting kind of player?
Good for Gomes.
Not much shooting out of Telfair, but have to love the As. Personally I don't think DA got RTelfiar for an AI trade. If that was the case, he wouldn't have cut Greene.
Jones is the big mystery. DA insisted on getting him in the trade. Don't kid yourself---Brown doesn't limit his PT without DAs approval. He has to have a game plan for minutes, etc.
Powe with decent looking numbers.
