Good idea to start its own thread, FL. NBA action in full swing once again!!! (Ok, not really, but its the closest thing to it).
Any idea when the tape delays of our games are going to be shown?

Thanks, FL.
Last year, they said that we had the deepest team in the summer league. I think we're even deeper this year.
Maybe getting a bit ahead of myself, but could we see Bassy leading the summer league in assists? Or Gerald and Jefferson the top 2 scorers?

I loved the bit Jeff on Celtic's blog wrote today ... It was titled 3 words... and he said that if Danny is thinking of doing something dumb like trading Gerald for PR reasons then he better do it before summer league starts because of 3 words... Telfair to Green...

Another thing Sebastian is good at is delivering passes down under the basket. When he penetrates, he's looking to pass to an open man inside, and if there's one thing Jefferson and Gomes are good at, its getting themselves into position to receive passes inside the paint. I think we'll see Jefferson and Gomes finishing a lot of dish off passes from Telfair and Rondo when the drive into the paint.

It will be a good barometer to see where AJ is at. Will year #3 be the year he breaks through?

From what he said to Celtics.com, he won't be going full throttle in the summer league games. His ankle is still ginger (I fully understand what he's going through. Its taking me forever to get over this ankle bone bruise), and he's just looking to get some confidence back. He's taking it easy in practice right now, as they prepare for this week's summer league games, because he doesn't want to be all sore on gameday.
Actually, this may be a good thing. Jefferson's problem was that he was rushing things, getting to excited and moving too fast. Now that he's got to slow down some and use better foot work and pump fakes to get his shot off while his ankle heals, he'll be in better control, and hopefully he'll be more effective.
But if he doesn't look all that spectacular, don't be worried. He should be fully ready by training camp in October. That's when it really counts.

At the end of New England Sports Tonight on FSNE Dickerson mentioned that Al had a minor ankle tweak but it sounded like it could have been what he said in the article today about how it is still brothering him. But he will be ready for summer league and he also said that the coaches are not thrilled with the shape that Green was in when he showed up for camp... This does not sound good to me... I thought Green was a really hard worker... how can he show up out of shape?

It will be a good barometer to see where AJ is at. Will year #3 be the year he breaks through? I definitely think so. That's what I have said for the last year and a half. Year number 3 would hopefully be his year. We'll see. Also, another thing DM is that Gomes and Big Al have superb hands to catch all of those passes from Telfair. I'm getting anxious to see what this team is capable with standing pat.

Yep, our bigs have good hands. Al has the best hands of them all, by a wide margin. He's good too, in that he looks for passes all the time when players penetrate into the paint.
Hmm... Gerald out of shape, huh? That's a head scratcher. Let this be the only time we ever hear him being out of shape.

I liked the comment that Jefferson has been working on his footwork with Ray.

So do I, Ferbo. I think that was something pretty noticeable in his 1st 2 years in the league. He would always flop around because of poor footwork. He got away with a lot of traveling calls from the refs. With a more solid foundation because of better footwork, he will be a lot more balanced, and hopefully more effective.
Gerald will probably take this out of shape thing the way he should--by quickly working on his conditioning to get into top shape. This will serve as a learning experience for him, that he has to go the extra mile to be the best he can be. He came into practice in shape, but not as good a shape as the coaching staff was hoping he'd be. He now knows that good is not good enough if he wants to become a star player.
I think this is fine. He's young and will quickly get into really good shape in a couple of weeks. He'll work really hard to be in top shape by the time training camp rolls around in October.
