If we had the opportunity to draft Rajon Rondo, arguably the best PG in this draft (if he declares)would you want Ainge to grab him, even with Delonte West, and Orien Greene on the team?
Rajon is a wild card because he's so creative with the ball and is a super athlete with excellent court vision. And he's just as unselfish as Orien is.
But Delonte shows promise of being a future captain of the team, and Orien, at times, looks like he can be a starting caliber PG for us (with a lot more work, of course).
So what's the call? Yes we draft him, or no, we are set at the PG spot with Delonte and Orien?

No. I think Al J needs more competition than Dickau, OG, and DW. Also it's not like Rondo is Chris Paul or anything

I say no. I'm thinking Ainge drafts Reddick.

Well, my question sort of pertains to what you guys feel about our PG situation. Rajon could be a better PG than either Delonte or Orien. In lots of ways, he's got the best of both of them. He's got a lot of intangibles like Delonte (terrific feel for what needs to be done at any particular time) and he's got the fluid dribbling and penetrating ability like Orien, except even more slick and cunning.
He's not the next Chris Paul, but neither are Delonte or Orien Greene.
As for Redick, yes, I'm a fan of his. I'm rooting for him to be a solid NBA pro. He'd be a terrific consolation prize if we can't get any of our top choices.

Reddick would definitely be good player to come off our bench. We really somewhere who can give us points.
Far as Rajon goes, if neither Aldridge, Morrison, Splitter, Gay or Bargnani are on the board then I would take Rajon or trade the pick away for someone who can produce in this league.

I like Aldrigde and Splitter because they could help bolster our frontcourt depth. Splitter sounds like he may be able to rival Perkins for the starting spot because from what BC tells me, he's got some offensive game and is a tough defender too. I like Morrison and Reddick, and would take them any day of the week. I'm not so sold on Rudy Gay--he's an exceptional talent, but just doesn't seem to be able to dominate like how he should be.
JHVOS, how do you feel about Delonte and Orien? Do you feel that we can roll the dice on them as being our PG's when we are competing for championships?

I agree with Derren. If Rondo is available we may pick him. Either way , it will improve our bench which has taken a hit from the trade.
We either will pickup up a big or a point guard. Everything else we seem to have an abundance of.
I say either Shelden Williams or Rajon Rondo will be wearing green next year IF Danny keep the picks.

Sounds like a good draft to me. I wouldn't mind Daniel Gibson either. He may have more of an impact than Rondo because he's a better scorer, sort of in the mold of Chauncy Billups.

I say trade down. A weak draft by far.

JHVOS, how do you feel about Delonte and Orien? Do you feel that we can roll the dice on them as being our PG's when we are competing for championships? DW competes on every possession and wants to win at all cost. That is the type player that's needed in order to compete in this league. No, he isn't the playmaking pg that we all desire but he is improving his game and works hard to become better. Orien on the other hand, needs lots of work on his offense. It doesn't matter how good you are at passing if you can't shoot the ball you're no better than the 12th man on the bench. He's just too raw to tell right now but I hope he changes every mind and becomes a new player next season

I totally agree. Orien needs to be a lot more aggressive with the ball. He's got it in him to be able to make plays at the rim. He's the rare case of being too unselfish. He and Tony Allen both are guys who need to think like Dwayne Wade and just attack the rim with force. Let it all hang loose and just explode to the rim.

I would rather see us trade the pick for value if we get one of the top picks. I have already heard rumblings about Chicago trading Heinrich to move up. If we get another PG, unless we could get a Chris Paul, I would rather go for a big man. I have had my eyes on this guy: nbadraft.net/profiles/andreabargnani.aspUnless you get a remarkable talent like Paul, PGs take time to develop (see Billips, Chauncy) It would be nice to pick up a veteran and proven PG with our exceptions or Kandi's expiring contract or picks or any combination there of.

bargnani plays sf here in europe for most time and he's especially fond with long range shots. so that's exctly what we don't need. we need toughness in our frontcourt and better pg. trading our pick for hinrich would be absolute blessing. frim what i read chicago is really high on aldridge, so if we end up with better pick than nyk and have a shot at aldridge then the bulls might even do it

I love delonte, but if were ever going to compete at a championship level we need a point guard who just causes the other team fits. Look at the elite teams in the NBA, they have point guards who cause havoc, and creates for others some delonte just dosent have. We need a creator in the worst way.
