Though we were the [HASH]1 rated Off and [HASH]1 rated defense, and though we swept BRK, it wasn't a walk in the park. We didn't struggle to beat them, but they did score on us while shooting better than 50%.
Now we face a different animal. MIL does something that BRK doesn't -- score in the paint. Giannis isn't like Durant and Kyrie, whose weapon is the jump shot. Giannis attacks the rim.
Going to have to shift gears here.
What do you guys think we need to fix and tighten up to beat the Bucks?

I would say effort, aggressiveness, and focus. They need to play that whole series against the Bucks with serious determination and poise like it's the finals because the Nets series was too easy for them. They got a little relaxed and comfortable. They can't let this series get anywhere near their heads. It's just a thing that happened. A 2nd round exit and all the Nets stuff is behind them and forgotten forever and quasi meaningless.

I hear you. I didn't think we played all that great, and we swept the Nets. Maybe BRK was fools gold.
But letting MIL shoot >50% and outrebound is us setting us up for a big letdown.
But I'm sure Udoka knows already what to hammer home to the guys.

My worry is guys like Brook Lopez and Portis have size and length. Lopez can shoot the 3 unlike Claxton. Jrue and Grayson also shoot the 3 well enough that we can't leave them open. Our defense will need to step up as we can't just double team Giannis like we did KD..

Right. MIL is clearly a level above the Nets -- fewer holes.
Portis gives us trouble, and his attitude rubs our guys the wrong way.

I'm curious to see who guards Giannis. I imagine Grant will get a lot of minutes there, but it'll be a team effort for sure - especially with our switch everything defense. And conversely, who will Giannis guard? I imagine they won't put him on JT most of the time.

Grant surprised me by guarding Durant well. He'll get a fair share of opportunities defending Giannis.
I think Horford will get the most, followed by Rob, then Grant, then Theis.

This series, to me, will show us where we are as a team -- whether we are close or not. It will expose our holes and how big or small they are. It will show us how good Ime really is at coaching. It will show us who really are the dogs on the team.

Grant was amazing against Durant. And shot 50% from 3 too. He's come so far.

We will need the bench to come up big. We know JT and JB will do their thing. Smart and Horford will show up.
Hoping Rob will be the old Rob.
But the bench scoring and defending will be what tips the scale in our favor.

On paper, is BRK a more dangerous offensive team than MIL?

Not without Middleton, and Woj is reporting that he may miss the entire series.

On paper, is BRK a more dangerous offensive team than MIL? The Bucks dont have anyone like Kyrie as a 1 on 1. They dont have a scorer like Durant too. But I would argue that our defense has to shift radically to handle the Bucks. We would go from a man defense with double teams to lock down 2 main players...and we'd have to change to a more rotation heavy zone to ensure we don't leave guys like Grayson and Lopez wide open for 3s. The Bucks have a better overall team but are less likely to have one guy go off for 40-50 points..yes even Giannis isn't that sort of player.

Yup, MIL is an entirely different offenaive ballclub than BRK. They're harder to guard cause the shots will come from everyone and everywhere.
But we've had good success against them the past few years. For whatever reason we match up well.
Interested to see how Tatum fares defending Giannis one on one.

If Rob can get up to speed I def like our chances. It'll be interesting to see how the C's react to Milwaukee's defensive intensity, which will def be a step up from Brooklyn's.
