That pass Crowder made to Ayton for the win in Game 2 was perfect - as was the entire play. It happened so fast I didn't even realize what had happened until I saw the players celebrating. I also learned that there's no goaltending on an inbound pass that goes right over the hoop, because it's not a shot. I never really thought about that before.

So now that Atlanta looks like they'll be among the East's best, what will we do to guard Trae Young?
Do we use speed to guard speed? Or do we try to be physical with him (this, I think, will only send him to the line more), or do we use height and length to disrupt him?

Trae is infuriating to watch at times. The league needs to seriously crack down on those "contact" fouls he draws where he suddenly stops and fakes a shot attempt. Thats just rubbish that the refs are calling it a foul.
I mean Jrue was known as a top tier defender at the guard spot. This is an All NBA first team defender. Yet he had some trouble with Trae.
So I think you guard him like you guard Steph. Accept that he'll drop 40, but make sure noone else gets over 10 points. Cut off the passes, don't allow alley oops, and remember to close out on their other 3pt shooters e.g. Huerter

I don't know, but man is that guy fun to watch. He's cocky, but I don't mind that if a guy plays hard and comes through. Maybe I don't mind it because he's not doing it to my team.
I look at it this way: he got 48 on Holiday, who is supposed to be one of the best defensive guards in the NBA. No one player is going to stop him. The best tactic might be to trap him every time and get the ball out of his hands; make someone else beat us.

Boy, the Bucks laid just about the biggest egg a team can lay in Game 4 in Atlanta last night. Up 2-1, no Trae Young for the Hawks, a chance to take a stranglehold on the series, and they don't show up at all. Just a horrible effort.
It's one of those years when no one seems able to dominate. Makes me wonder how we would have done if Jaylen had been available.

Last night the Clippers had just run off 10 straight points to cut a late third quarter deficit to 7, and then Chris Paul reenters the game and in a few minutes the lead is back to 15, with him scoring all but 2 of the points. He does it without doing anything physically special, like Kyrie's dribbling or Trae's quickness, but he finds his spots and creates his space and knocks down the shots. Beautiful to watch. I wish I had watched more of him in his prime.
It also makes me wonder if someone like Pritchard may have a higher ceiling than I thought. If you can be that effective without blowing by people why can't a smart guy like Pritch learn how to do what Paul did last night? I'm sure CP3 made it look easier than it is though.
