With us out early, do you have a rooting interest the rest of the way, or are you tuned out?
For me, the first two priorities every year are 1) for the Celtics to win and 2) for the Lakers to lose. I'll have to consider this postseason a partial success, since I knew the C's weren't going all the way, but the Lakers had a good shot if healthy.
After that, I want the Nets to lose. I don't like the way their team was put together and their stars are individually rather loathsome.
Then I want Philly to lose. Tanking for several years in a row should never be rewarded by a title. I don't mind Embiid but I really dislike Simmons.
So I'm rooting for the Hawks and Bucks in the eastern semis. It's going to be hard for me to root for either team if the Nets play the Sixers in the ECF.
In the West, I find myself unable to pick a favorite between Phoenix and Denver. I'd be happy with either team winning the whole shebang.
With the Clippers and Jazz, more or less the same thing. I'd be happy with either team winning it all.
In fact, I don't think any of the four teams left alive in the West have ever won a title.
In the East, the Hawks have never won while in Atlanta and the Bucks last won in 1971 with Jabbar and Oscar. Philly last won in 1983 and the Nets have never won.
Some fanbase is going to see something that few of their fans have ever seen - which I guess is pretty cool.

Wow, I feel the same way as you do, regarding the Nets and Philly. Hate them both.
I'm rooting for Milwaukee, if only because I don't care for Trae Young (and I don't know why).
In the West I want the Clips or the Suns. Clippers because I like Kawhi, and now because Billups is an assistant coach there. I also like the Suns because I've been a Chris Paul fan since his days at Wake.

With the Fakees gone, I just want to 76's to lose because I can't stand Doc because I believe we won our title in spite of him and he cost us at least the 2010 championship along with the refs in Game 7 of the Finals. Not a fan of Ben Simmons either because he is ultimately talented but also ultimately lazy. Laziness shouldn't rewarded.
I can't stand Kyrie or the flopping beard, I am eh on KD. I don't really care about them either way. They are making the Bucks look silly and will likely make whoever wind the Hawks/76ees series (hopefully the Hawks) look silly too.
In the West I want an Jazz/Suns series so I would be happy with either making it to the final launch and will root for them against the Nets.

I'm ok with any one out of the west winning and would like all series to go to 7 games for the thrill of it. Disappointed the Suns/Nuggets and Nets/Bucks has looked so one-sided. It'd be nice to see a franchise win for the first time.

Id love to see Utah, Denver, Phoenix, or Milwaukee, or Atlanta win it. Don't really care either way about Philly or LAC. Im hoping that someone somehow knocks out the Nets.

Pheonix because I'd like to see CP3 win a ring.
I don't mind Philly either because they're a good team and Embiid should at least go out as a champ before his body breaks down.

Anthony Davis injures his groin muscle and the Lakers are eliminated.
The Beard re-injures his hammy and then Kyrie sprains his ankle, and suddenly the Nets are vulnerable.
Embiid's knee starts bothering him more, he shoots 0-12 in the second half, and now the Sixers are vulnerable too.
It's amazing how much player health determines NBA championships year after year.
Not that I feel bad for the Lakers, Nets or Sixers.

Superstars are useless in street clothes.
Hopefully Chris Paul stays healthy. Utah remains a healthy bunch. Could be either of these teams who wins the championship.
The East looks vulnerable now. The Nets and Sixers are banged up, and Milwaukee is not looking so good. ATL -- well, I'm still expecting them to become a bad team again.

I'd take the Jazz first.
I like to see teams win that I never thought I'd see win or that nobody has seen win. I think that means the Hawks. I would find a certain humor with the Clippers owning LA
Sometimes I think about whether that city has ever won anything. The Broncos have won 3 rings and the Bucks won a ring a million years ago and the Diamondbacks won a ring. That leads me more towards the Suns and Bucks

There are several teams I wouldn't mind winning, but I think the Suns are my sentimental favorite now because of Chris Paul.

Wow, I just saw the ATL/PHI score! I had switched over to watch some baseball when the Sixers had a 20+ point lead and never went back. I'll watch the recording of the second half tomorrow to see what happened but I did see in the box score that Simmons went 4-14 from the FT line. TEN missed FTs and your team loses by 3 points. That's just weak. ATL now just one win away

Two more stars down since my last post about this. Kahwi may be done and CP3 may be out for a while under the Covid protocol. I can't remember a playoffs like this. And that doesn't even count Jaylen, Murray in DEN and others I'm no doubt forgetting who were hurt in the regular season.

Cheering now for Phoenix out west and the Hawks from the east.
ATL is growing on me. Trae Young proving to be a winner. Too bad DeAndre Hunter is out with an injury cause he would've been a good help.

The injuries this post-season are insane. Def can't remember a post-season with so many injured stars. Jamal Murray, Jaylen Brown, Anthony Davis, Kyrie, Conley all out. Lebron, Embiid, Mitchell, and Harden are all hobbled. Unreal.

It sucks that the champs for this season may simply be the healthier team rather than the better team. And with another short offseason coming up, next season could be injury riddled as well.
