I have heard of this one brewing for awhile.

This makes no sense unless Kemba is damaged goods or just wants out because trading Gordon and keeping Kemba and acquiring Holiday makes us tiny and redundant. We need to get bigger and more athletic down low to improve. Not smaller.

We need to get bigger and more athletic down low to improve. Not smaller. Yeah, I wondered about that too (Kemba is sub 6’ and I think Holiday is 6’2”). But Toronto made it work with a Vanvleet and Lowry backcourt.

A Kemba-Holiday-Smart backcourt rotation would be nasty. We'd need to stengthen our forwards through free agency. Same with the center spot. Hopefully the Williams' both takes big steps forward next year.

Hopefully the Williams' both takes big steps forward next year. That’s the gamble — are we playing for the present or the future? If we are going for gold now, then we need veterans and more reliable production, and maybe we move Robert and Grant. If for the future, we continue to work and develop them, knowing they’ll look good at times, and like young players at other times.

Here’s an idea:
Hayward to GSW for Wiggins and the #2
Wiggins has an ugly contract for another 3 years, but he’s still only 26, and with us he won’t be pressured to carry (or co-carry) the franchise. He’ll give us another tall and athletic wing defender who can shoot, pass and drive.
But maybe the bigger prize in this trade is that draft pick which we could net us Onyeka Okwongu. He’s a do-it-all big man, and in time, if he develops as needed, could be that neutralizing 5 who tames Bam Adebayo and Joel Embiid.

Read that Ainge is shopping Kemba. If true, I think this implies that Brad wants more defense. Expecially since this is a perimeter oriented league, guards and PG’s are the first like of defense.

Sounds like we might be trading Hayward.

Harden could be a Net soon.
Kyrie, Durant and Harden. Extremely talented and will be hard to stop when they are on fire. But will they mesh and sacrifice?

So wait, we’re (possibly) moving Hayward AND Kemba?
Maybe trying to clear salaries to bring in a young superstar? I mean, if the Nets pull off getting Harden to join Kyrie and Durant, and with the Bucks still in the mix with Giannis, and of course the Heat, we’re going to have to make a splash if we’re moving Kemba and Hayward.
Anthony Davis?

I like Kemba as a person, but I won't be heartbroken if he's traded for someone younger, healthier and better defensively, but we better get someone who can run the offense, either in the trade or in the draft. I am not confident in the ball handling of either Tatum or Brown, and I don't want the ball in Smart's hands that much. This is especially true if GH is gone too.
News just broke that the deadline for GH to opt in or out has been pushed out to TH by mutual consent of team and player. It's not clear whether this makes it more or less likely that he's in Boston next year.
