I like Kemba as a person, but I won't be heartbroken if he's traded for someone younger, healthier and better defensively, but we better get someone who can run the offense, either in the trade or in the draft. I am not confident in the ball handling of either Tatum or Brown, and I don't want the ball in Smart's hands that much. This is especially true if GH is gone too. News just broke that the deadline for GH to opt in or out has been pushed out to TH by mutual consent of team and player. It's not clear whether this makes it more or less likely that he's in Boston next year. Could mean Hayward is gone, of we are working on resigning him for cheaper and more years. I won’t cry if Kemba is gone too. Need more defense from that spot.

I think GH will opt out and then sign for 3 years, $60 million. He gets $34 million if he opts in, but if he gets hurt again no one will want to touch him, so he gets $26 million for two extra years and whoever winds up with him pays him $20 million per year. That's my guess. I'd be ok with that. When he's healthy we are a better team.
I think Kyrie's head will explode if Harden joins NJ. You just might see the first actual wrestling match among teammates for control of the ball.

At least Gordon can play defense and has good size. But if it true that Hayward is on his way out, it sounds like it could be to ATL for a big Traded Player Exception (TPE), which we’ll use to pick up additional free agents.

I think Danny has got to play a really good hand here. If he hits on a good trade, he sets up this organization for a 6-8 year window of contending. If we fail, maybe Tatum wonders about his long term committment to this team.

Let's assume GH is healthy all year. With this trade we most likely won't be as good in 2020-2021, but will probably be better in a couple of years and down the road. I don't really know what kind of talent we could get at [HASH]6 but I assume Danny has a good feel for it. My gut feeling is ... Go For It.

I read that Danny is trying hard to get into the top 3.
There is no generational talent to desperately try to move up for — but maybe Ainge is trying to get a top 3 pick to package in a trade for someone he really wants.
