update on Romeo from the Globe: Stevens said rookie Romeo Langford’s most recent ankle injury, suffered in the Maine Red Claws’ win Sunday, does not appear to be as serious as feared. Langford has remained in Maine and will continue to practice there instead of returning to Boston to begin another round of rehabilitation.

I think he has had some good, if not solid G league games. His NBA defense is a lot better than I thought already.

Where do folks see him fitting in, on a team with Kemba, Smart, Brown, Tatum and Hayward? This year he'll be seeing a lot of G-league time, but what about next year? There are only so many minutes to go around.

There are only so many minutes to go around. Say Romeo really busts out this year, his rookie season. His minutes will still be limited because of the Four Horsemen (KW-GH-JT-JB). He could leap frog GWill and Semi for backup minutes. But he’ll either become a trade chip, or he’ll make someone else a trade chip — and I’m looking at Jaylen and Smart as potential candidates.

Has Romeo earned more playing time? Did an ok job for his first ever professional start, playing 28 minutes.
He could move past Javonte Green soon.

I hope Langford moves past Greene soon, because he was a late lottery selection, and Greene went undrafted. My take on his first start...average for a rookie, not named Pierce or Tatum. His length was a positive, however his court awareness was a negative.

I do not think Langford will be Josh Jackson, nor Jaylen Brown. Somewhere in the middle.

I watched Langford's recent highlights today. He lost that funky release, which could be attributed to his injured hand. Also, that freakish wingspan for his height has enabled him to corral in rebounds. He might not make this year's playoff rotation, however I expect he will next year.

Romeo really looked like a rookie vs OKC. He bit on several pump fakes and had fouls called on him. He'll learn, but it showed how much he has to learn.

I expect Langford to shake off his shaky defensive effort in his last game, and come out playing smart and disciplined defense. He doesn’t strike me as a guy who will sulk and retreat into a hole after a bad game.

I think he'll learn that with his reach, he can afford to be more patient about trying to block shots and still be good at it.
