Last year I thought we were going to win 60+ games, and that didn't pan out. This year I'm thinking we'll win somewhere in the 50s. If our big men play well we could even be in the upper 50s. I think we'll finish in the top 4 in the East, but where exactly I don't really know. I do expect to finish the year strong and go into the playoffs with a chance to make some noise.
I also think that we'll all have more fun this year and find this team to be a lot more likable than last year's.
What are your expectations for this season?

I’ll go with 53. The East is tougher this year.

My guess is 56 wins but they are going to be a lot of fun to watch.

I'm right there with all of you. I'd expect we'd be more consistent in terms of effort with this group which will look good for the record on paper. I'll go with 55 to be different.

50+ wins is no easy task, and we may very well be too high on this team. But I’m optimistic because we have seen what a Brad Stevens’ team can do when motivated and playing the right way.

I think we're better than the team that won 49. Last year we had a great record when Gordon played well. Unfortunately, it wasn't that often. If he can be THAT GUY for most games this year, that alone will make us way better.

I really want to see how our bigs play against Embiid and Horford, but I'll say 54 for now. To me the biggest question mark is who among the big men is going to give us good minutes at both ends. I think we pretty much all agree on that.

I think we pretty much all agree on that. Scal brought up a great point. In today’s NBA, the big man landscape has changed so much that you no longer have to rely on a single big man playing lots of minutes. He says big men can rotate in and out of the lineup every 5 minutes, with the caveat that when they are there, they are the hardest workers on the floor. The wings and ball handlers will do the bulk of the scoring and defending (as Brad says, the 5s are the last line of defense). The 5s can set screens, roll to the rim, clean up messes, and pop from the outside.

I saw that Scal segment and he might have even said 3 minute segments. Interesting theory. One thing we do have is big man depth.
This is neither here nor there, but if RWill does get some run in a big man rotation I'd love to see him paired with a PG who knows how to get him easy shots (dunks). Waters could do that. Let's see who else can.

But yes, Waters should make an excellent partner for RWill.

I say 56 and we set a new high for Brad so then we can just blame last years regression on Cryrie being a diva.

I will say 50, because I think we will be better than last year but will need some time due to the youth of many of our roll players.
