He just need to have better condition to handle heavy minutes in the NBA. He would be such a asset on both sides of the court especially with his size. Definitely enjoying the fact Celtics are giving him a chance to develop as I believe this young man will work hard enough to get on his team.

He’s made excellent progress in such a short time, with better coaching from his high school and college days. With his impressive height, he’ll have a chance to fill make the NBA (as long as he continues to develop). But his overall prognosis, IMO, he will be a situational Center who won’t log lots of minutes. But when he’s in there, he can look good for those 2-3 minute spurts.

So my question with Tacko is, was he a Danny pick, or was Brad on board with him too?

He was an undrafted FA. I always thought he was too slow, but he did make progress and they didn't give up anything to get him.

He was an undrafted FA. I always thought he was too slow, but he did make progress and they didn't give up anything to get him. Did Brad want him, though? I'm thinking not. Guys like Carsen, Semi and Tacko were dropped quickly once Brad took over. We're starting to see what type of players Brad favors.

IMO Tacko was a low risk high reward bet. It cost almost nothing to get him, and 7'6" guys don't grow on trees, so they took a shot. I don't think his presence precluded us from getting someone else, and it didn't hamstring us cap-wise, so I can't think of a reason why Brad would be opposed.
At this point we have more of a track record to judge Tacko on and it's reasonable to conclude that he'll never become a useful player on a contender, so it's time to move on.
