I will thoroughly enjoy watching this game. I am a fan of TJ Ford, as well as Andrew Bogut. Ford is such an entertaining PG because of how good he is at creating plays for himself and for others. He's as close to Iverson's speed as any other player in the NBA. He can knife through traffic and put up floaters like few can. His jumper is improving, and that's making him even more dangerous. Bogut is a guy I think highly of. Very smart player with a lot of basketball smarts and instincts. Tough player (not to be mistaken for a bruiser or enforcing type of player) who gets his hands on a lot of looseballls and is more than an adequate shot blocker. He's a good offensive player around the rim and crafty under the boards.
Will this game be a battle of the guards? With Redd and Pierce among the East's best wing players, this will be a good one to watch if you are a fan of perimeter players.
Ricky only had 8 pts against the Pacers in the last game, his lowest output of the season. Who wants to bet against him coming out with guns blazing?
Raef has a shoulder injury and we'll have to play it by ear if he's going to be playing or not. This may be a chance for Rivers to bring in Banks and put Raef on the inactive list. Raef certainly has been struggling with his shot, so this may be a good move.
If this happens, I'd love to see Jefferson in the starting lineup with Perkins--but I doubt this will happen. Rivers continues to start Blount, and his teammates are trying to boost his esteem by singing a lot of praises to him (Ricky had some good things to say about Mark, and Pierce said that Blount is a borderline All-Star).
Milwaukee's Mo Williams continues to be a surprise around the league. The 6'1" combo guard is averaging close to 15 ppg and 4 apg.
If anything, the Bucks have a solid core of big men and perimeter players (and a really good PG). In the paint, they have Magloire (10 rpg), Bogut (7.5 rpg), Joe Smith (10 rpg), and Gadzuric. On the perimeter, they have Redd (25 ppg), Mo Williams (15 ppg), Bobby Simmons (12 ppg), and JIRI WELSCH!!! (4.6 ppg ;D ).
They are definitely a team on the rise. Two reasons they have a better record than we do is because of their solid rebounding (4th in the league) and because of TJ Ford.
We played good defense against the Pacers, and hopefully it will carry over in this game.
