Perk was playing awesome... he had 9 rebounds 5 blocks 1 assist and 6 points with NO turnovers and NO fouls ... so, why did he play just 22 minutes? Blount was ok with 8 rebounds and 14 points in spite of the 6 turn overs. Raef really wasn't doing a whole lot out there other than bricking a lot of shots so Perk should have had at least 30 minutes and Raef should have played less. I don't get doc's rotations. They make little sense, especially when it comes to Perk!! the kid is playing great, getting better and better each game and yet he plays just 22 minutes. Al played 11 but he was struggling out there so I can maybe see that but just don't understand why Perk wasn't out there more, especially in that second quarter when we were getting killed on the boards and not shooting well either.

I am at a loss as well for Perkins playing less than half the game when he is HANDS DOWN our best true center. Unless he fouls out, I think he should get 30+ minutes. Even with AJ struggling, I would like to see him play more. The veteran big men are not winning too many games for us; unless Raef or Blount are on fire, I would prefer to see AJ and Perkins out there learning the ropes.

It is mind boggling, isnt' it? Why does Perkins not get the playing time he so deserves? The guy gives us toughness, rebounding, and an interior defensive presence, but Blount still gets more playing time than him. I honestly roll my eyes and shake my head when I see Blount in the game. We are never going to go far as long as he is playing big minutes.
BTW, Banks provided a much needed spark for us. He was one of the few who actually made a difference. That's the best way to use Marcus--as a sparkplug scorer off the bench who can provide instant scoring and disruptive defense. Maybe its time for Doc to use the Ricky Davis/Marcus Banks combination again when Tony Allen comes back. Them two absolutely changed the tempo of the game whenever they came onto the court last year. It was electrifying and lethal.

Good call on Marcus. He certainly can give us a big lift on the second unit. I was pleasantly surprised to see him have such a big impact in his first game back. I hope we can re-sign him.

Fans must beware, though. Marcus Banks can look absolutely terrific in short spurts, but his inabilities do rear itself the longer he is on the court. He's a full speed ahead player who gets stumped when he has to slow down.
Doc needs to use his strengths and minimize exposing his weaknesses.

The 5 locked shots caught my eye. I wonder how Perk's stamina is? He hasn't played much basketball in the last few years. I know he has worked extremely hard on conditioning, but suspect that doesn't necessarily translate into stamina for playing.
I'm glad to see that he is continuing to start. His nu mbers are encouraging, but not as eye-catching as AJs on defense. To me, this is indication that he is playing D pretty well for Doc to keep starting him.
Can only wonder what he would be doing if his PT hadn't been truncated lasat year by AW's return.

once again, Rivers proves what an inept coach he is. He continues to think that you can win games with more offense instead of shut-down defense. Hence only 19 minutes for Perkins, allthough in that short period he already collected 9 boards & 5 blocks. I guess you know better hé Mr. Rivers?
Raef must realise that he's not going to get more playing time if he contues to bomb 7 of his 9 FGA from beyond the arc. Newsflash Raef, that's one of the reasons we didn't resign Walker.
Banks proves yet again, how far ahead he is compared to Green & Dickau. Just don't play to well Marcus, i'd like to keep you next year.
btw: did i tell you that Rivers is a bonehead?

I am willing to believe there is an "overall game plan" for the team development, that we the fans just do not see w/ the inconsistency of Doc's rotations.

problem is, he's pretty consistent with Perks rotations ----> around 20 minutes max a game, even if he's playing good/great.

There's got to be a reason why his rotation is like this. Ainge would certainly voice his concern to him if there wasn't any reason for Doc's decisions.
