The question is not if you want to trade for Kawhi, but if it will happen or not.
Do you think Danny Ainge puts together a trade package that the Spurs agree to?

I think Danny can put together a package that the Spurs will agree to if he wants to. But the question is does he feel that Kawhi is better than what he can offer. It pretty much seems that he has to offer one of our young guys (Brown probably) and maybe one of our guys with a higher salary or even a couple of our younger prospects. Is that worth what we get back in Kawhi who has been injured and not playing for a year. At this point, I really don't know.
He has the assets but will it be worth it? I just don't know if he will want to and I don't know as it will be worth it. I would hope he learned something from the Perk trade. He got back players who SHOULD have made the team better but he destroyed chemistry on a close team and a trade of any of these guys might do the same.

The longer this takes, the less I'm optimistic it'll happen. I trust that Danny will not mortgage too much of our future needlessly. He has to be confident that Kawhi will sign long term.
If not, I'm sure he won't offer that much.

KL is from LA. He'll be a free agent next summer. I'm not saying I wouldn't want him on my team, but the more I think about it, the less I'm willing to give for him. Danny has us on the brink of something special if we just stand pat. Sometimes the best trades are the ones you don't make. I'd hate to give up one of our young guns for one year of KL only to see him go the hated Lakers.

If not, I'm only offering Rozer/Smart and some picks that aren't going to be high lottery.

Agreed. That's a low risk, high reward play.

Oh, an awful thought just came to me. What if the Warriros traded for Kawhi? With talks that Klay Thompson may be the Beattle that leaves the band, what if GS makes a preemptive move by trading Klay to the Spurs for Kawhi? Kawhi will be back in California, which might entice him to re-sign with them.
Oh, that'll make me sick!!!

I'm getting so tired of refreshing to see the lastest news. Well anyways, Woj says if the Spurs are ready to pull the trigger, Boston is in tremendous position.
Take that with a grain of salt. It doesn't mean anything until it actually happens.

Nah I don't see it happening. I know DA likes a big splash and the Kyrie thing was very unexpected but..when it comes down to it, the team needs stability. Not a big splash each year. The chemistry from the playoff run should sway us towards keeping our core and seeing if we can improve internally.

I tend to agree, just replace Smart with a cheaper player who can score and that may be our only move in the offseason.

But we are linked to a combo guard playing oversees named Brad Wanamaker. Says we are strongly interested in him.

I would rather not make that trade. We would have to give up too much. Besides, he quit on his current team. I like our chances the way we are now. I also do not want to trade away any of our core. I don’t think Danny will make this trade.

Maybe it wasn't him giving up on his team, but rather the Spurs organization and his teammates turning their backs on him?
