The first matchup of the season went realy well for us. We beat the Rockets, 102 - 82, and in that game, it wasn't Pierce or Ricky who had the big game--it was Raef. The big man went for 32 pts, nailing 7 of 9 shots from beyond the arc.
Tracy McGrady played with a bad back in that game, and Yao put up a quiet 14 and 10.
We can't assume they'll play as poorly as they did in that game, nor should we lower our intensity because their record is 4 - 12.
Perkins played well against the Knicks in his short minutes, scoring off of offensive putbacks and making his presence felt on the defensive board--until he fouled out. We need him to stay on the floor as much as possible because when he goes to the bench, Blount comes in.
Ricky's shot is still off. Its to his advantage to get to the free throw line during games to work on his touch. But I really appreciate his energy and intensity. He's become one of my favorite Celtics players (I only mildly liked this guy in the past).
This is a very winnable game and if we lose, it'll be a disappointment. We must set our energy level high for this game and make sure we play hard throughout and don't let the Rockets stick around. Good for us to work on developing a killer instinct.

Well almost game time and this one is very winable. The Rockets haven't been playing well and if we come out and play defense from the beginning and set the pace, we should win it. Which team will take the floor tonight??? The one who plays defense and hustles and runs the offense or the one who stands around watching the other teams run past and score on lay ups.

Pierce scored with McGrady all over him... McGrady hit a three at the other end. Raef has missed 2 threes already. His shot is still off. Pierce missed a hook in the land and Houston got the rebound... Perk got a piece of a Yao lay up and got the rebound. Raef is fouled at the other end. Raef missed the first and makes the second. Score is 5-7 Houston.

Ricky fouled Yao who shoots 2. Yao made both. ... good ball movement on that one. Ricky drove and drew the defenders and kicked out to Delonte for a 3. Yao got fouled going to the basket and made both FT's. Pierce almost threw it away but Delonte recovered. Shot no good. Rockets get the rebound. Pierce commits a foul at the other end.

Delonte doing well. He easily picked off a lazy dribble from David Wesley and got a open court dunk. Then he drills a three pointer off a kickout. Raef is off. He's even struggling at the FT line.
Pierce is forcing things right now. Not looking like he's feeling the flow of the game.

The pace seems to be fairly slow. We are doing a lot of walking the ball rather than running. We are also not hitting our jump shots. Raef missed another outside shot. Howard hit a shot at the other end. TMac gets a steal and Rockets score at the other end. Delonte finally hits a jumper for us. Score is 12-15 Houston. Time out.

If I'm Doc, I'd take Raef out right now and put in Jefferson. He's really struggling with his shot and when Raef isn't hitting open shots, he's not doing much else. Big Al will bring in some hustle and energy and also a guy who's a threat for putbacks on the offensive board.
Boy, Ricky's shot is still off. He's not going straight up for his shot. He's either falling slightly forward or backwards. His timing is looking better, but he's missing shots that are normally automatic for him.
