Thought it would be good to start a thread that we can sticky to discuss as players are signed for summer league and as we await the first game.

Danny said something about Zizic being questionable for Summer League because of visa issues but Mike Zarren set the record straight.
Mike Zarren: "Ante is currently under contract in Europe. But there currently is no visa issue. We re good."
But they aren't 100% sure he will be in Summer League.
Also, Danny repeated that Yabusele won't be there because of his foot surgery.

Sure would like to have Zizic on the team. Along with Jaylen and Jayson, and Semi, I want to see what kind of damage Zizic can do.

What about Nader? I'm eager to see his progress.

What about Nader? I'm eager to see his progress. Yup, gotta see Nader too. See if he's ready for NBA action. Demetrius needs to play lights out if he wants to remain a Celtic. Rookie Kadeem Allen is a better perimeter defender and could steal Jackson's spot on the roster.

So, there is this new thing called a two-way player. Here's the gist, although I can't vouch for its complete accuracy:
"A two-way player is primarily a D-League player but can be called up by the parent NBA team on temporary assignments.
Teams can sign players with three years or less NBA experience to two-way contracts.
Teams can sign players to one year or two year "two-way" contracts.
Two-way contracts must be signed prior to January 15th.
Just as with regular NBA contracts, the parent team retains full rights to its two-way players. (they cannot be poached by other teams).
Two-Way players make more ($75,000) than regular D-League players. (Level A players make $26,000 while Level B players make $19,500)
Two-Way Player Salaries will be excluded from the Team's Salary Cap
For example, a Team is not required to have Salary Cap Room or an Exception to sign, acquire, or convert a player to a Two-Way Contract even if they are over the salary cap, above the tax line, or "hard capped".
Two-Way players CAN be traded, but teams cannot trade them before 30 days following the date on which the Contract was signed. I could see a particularly good two-way player being traded for a draft pick, for instance."
-----
Bottom line: we should be able to hold onto more players should we wish to

He/s a long shot to make the team, and more likely being called upon to be a big body to go up against in practices. But if he flashes, he'll get a chance. Good luck young guy.

Who are your top 3 performers?
I say Jaylen, Ojeleye and Nader. I didn't put Jayson because, even though I think he'll look good, I think Jaylen and Nader are a bit more ready than Tatum. I put Ojeleye because he'll be shooting darts from 3pt land and throwing home monster dunks.
Big men don't get a lot of shine in these settings (sorry Zizic). Yabu would have looked good, but he's recovering from his foot surgery, and will not be playing.

Ojeleye could be interesting. Originally played at Duke for 2-seasons. Transfers to SMU, and has a breakout year.

Here's the roster for SL team so far
Kadeem Allen Jabari Bird Jaylen Brown Demetrius Jackson Landen Lucas Jordan Mickey Abdel Nader Semi Ojeleye Scoochie Smith Jayson Tatum Ante Zizic
I think Scoochie Smith is the only one we haven't discussed before.
