I keep thinking about what Brian Windhorst said on the radio yesterday -- that league execs feel Phil wants to trade Porzingis because Phil is worried about the long term health of his joints.
Now, if Phil were to say that publicly, teams would be concerned about his long term health and wouldn't offer as much.
Is Phil concealing this and using misdirection by saying he wasn't happy about Porzingis missing the exit interview? That doesn't sound so bad, "oh Porzingis just wasn't happy with the situation, that's all".
C'mon, you don't give away a super young star caliber player because he missed an exit interview.

Ok, I'll bite. Going to put the floating rumors together and squeeze out a plan.
Phil wants Josh Jackson. We draft Jackson at 3, and then trade him + Jae Crowder + a couple of 2nd rounders to NY for Porzingis and the 8th pick.
Danny likes Dennis Smith Jr, and takes him with our newly acquired 8th pick.

Highly doubt it is that favorable for us. The trade scenarios I've read involves our 1st rounder this year, Crowder and our 1st rounder next year at minimum.

I can go with that, as long as we put restrictions on next year's pick so that if it ends up being the 1st (if Brooklyn wins the top pick) or 2-3 (if the Lakers' pick falls into this range) we get to keep it. If it's 4-5 then we'll give it to NY.

That would be favorable to us by large margin. I doubt NY would take that deal without adding a couple more 1st round picks unless Phil calm down on the price.

Sounds like Danny is working in all directions and trying to get the best deal done... Going hard after George, Butler and Porzingis.
Hopefully he gets good medical info on Porzingis if indeed, Phil is trading him because of bad knees, etc.
Also reports that Phil was nodding off and napping through the draft workouts. And Dolan is skipping the draft to play in a band. No wonder Knicks have been floundering lately.

From NY Daily News
No way I'd include Jaylen in the deal.

Will be a very interesting day for Celtics fans. Gotta give Danny a heaping amount of kudos. He must be one of the busiest GM's in the business.
Could we possibly end up with Porzingis, George AND Hayward this summer?

From NY Daily News No way I'd include Jaylen in the deal. Yup, Jaylen is off limits in my book. But NY has to aim high. As we negotiate, the asking price will come down. And actually we hold bargaining leverage because it's not like we're banging on their door for Porzingis. It is Phil who wants to trade him.

If that was the offer from the Knicks I'd say "We're really far apart and want no part of anything like that. I gotta go. The Pacers are on the phone."
I'd then instruct the secretary not to answer calls from the Knicks till 4PM (draft is at 7PM). I'd do my best to really shut them out and make them sweat. I'd have our guys/underlings just texting theirs but I'd be very distant.
And I definitely wouldn't call them. When you're really far apart you gotta act like it

I think WEEI (could be wrong) reported the Celts offered [HASH]3, a player (please be Crowder), and another lottery pick and that they feel they'll get him. Personally I think that could be too much.

I'd tell NY, "look, you guys want Josh Jackson or not? You want him, you can have him -- if you'll give us Porzingis. But I'll tell you what, I'm a nice guy, so I'll give you Jae Crowder too. If that's not good for you, then say good bye to Josh Jackson cause Phoenix is going to be taking him right after us. Your choice, Phil."

But you need to add - "And after all Phil you are trading a player whose knees may or may not hold up. damaged goods. Keep him and see what you can get for him after his knees go out. "
