Some Quotes from Jackson's media availability in NY Josh Jackson says scheduling issues after trade explain why he hasn't worked out with Celtics. "I'd love to play in Boston." Jackson has not talked to Danny Ainge, but has spoken with Brad Stevens Jackson: "A lot of character issues have been blown out of proportion." Jackson says playing with Jaylen would be "pretty special." Josh Jackson on the first thing he'll get after he's drafted. "Maybe a dog to keep me comfy." Josh Jackson says he originally declined a Celtics workout because he and reps didn't believe Boston would seriously consider him at No. 1. Josh Jackson has spoken with a few of the Celtics coaches and Danny Ainge. Talked with Brad Stevens and staff over the phone last week. Josh Jackson said he was open to the idea of working out for the Celtics after they acquired No. 3. It did not work out logistically. How does it not work out logistically? He has a chance to be drafted by us @3. We might be his future employer. How do you NOT find time to drop whatever you are doing to find just ONE day, One afternoon, just a FEW hours to workout for us?

Tatum found the time...just doesnt seem like Jackson wants to be here. He and his agent are probably worried he would be buried behind Brown and Crowder

A few more tidbits from media availability:
Tatum didn't feel well throughout his second workout with the Celtics.
Brad Stevens told Jayson Tatum he valued his ability to guard 1-4 while also packaging elite scoring ability.
Celtics do indeed have Jackson's medicals now + have been in contact with him. Which seems to bring him right back in play for [HASH]3.
Dennis Smith said cool part of his Cs workout was meeting Ainge right after seeing him on TV during the Cs/Lakers 30 for 30
Lauri Markkanen says Cs workout was unique because they made him go up against dudes rather than 1 on 0 like other teams.
Knicks media has completely enveloped Dennis Smith Jr.
Jayson Tatum's demeanor reminds me of Avery Bradley, so there's that.
- 2nd rd. buys vs. 2017 FA Minimum - Target list of 2 Way players in the 2nd rd. + not drafted
Lonzo Ball on why he declined Cs workout at 1: "if it's either play for the hometown or go No. 1, I'd rather play for the hometown."
Jayson Tatum on Cs: "They have a great team, so I’d go in there and just be able to learn from a lot of true professionals they have."

FL, I'd like to hear your opinion on Tatum's demeanor reminding you of Avery Bradley.

That wasn't my take. These are all takes from media availability that I found on Twitter.
That quote is from Andrew Perna of RealGM.

Oh, I see.
You know, we're looking at Tatum vs. Jackson as being our 2 likely choices -- but I think Ball is in the conversation too.
Outside chance that Fox is too, but I think he and Dennis Smith Jr are in the 5 - 7 range.

Gotta think that defensive versatility is important too in the evaluation.
Tatum's height, wingspan, standing reach, even his weight and strength are greater than Jackson's. Meaning Tatum can play a small ball 4, much more than Jackson could.
Now, Jackson is more effective guarding smaller and quicker guards, but we have defenders for those types on our team already.
And we know Tatum's reach will allow him to rebound in the trenches, and we need help there as well.

I am picturing Rozier leading the break with Brown on one side and Jackson on the other. That is some serious speed. On the other hand, not much shooting, at least not yet. Your comment made me wonder what the future is for Smart on the Cs...He had one good game in the playoffs but not much else. Is he ever going to be a key part of the team? I'm having a hard time seeing it. Not really a PG, and not a SG at all. If he would just not shoot at all he'd be more valuable - freak games notwithstanding. I'm ready to move on from him.

Actually, I don't see neither Smart or Rozier being our starting PG in the future. Me either. It was just a fun image of raw speed that came to mind. I remember when Rondo would be blazing down the court and we didn't have any wings who could keep up with him to fill the lanes.

I think it'll be Tatum. In the end you need to have good shooters to win titles, and Tatum is the better shooter. Jackson would probably be more fun to watch, and make more highlight reels, but he does seem somewhat redundant with us already having Brown.
My darkhorse candidate is De'Aaron Fox.

Tatum can dunk even with armor on NBA draft prospect Jayson Tatum has shown he can throw down a nice dunk, but Sport Science decided to go a step further and see if Tatum could do it with armor on.

Wow, that is very dangerous. Imagine if he tore his ACL doing that stunt.

Wow, that is very dangerous. Imagine if he tore his ACL doing that stunt. I was thinking the same thing. Maybe they took some kind of precautions to keep him from getting hurt.

If the Celtics are still having trouble deciding between Tatum and Jackson, does it make sense to take Jackson because he seems to be in greater demand, and Danny could more easily do a post-draft trade if he wanted to?
