Adrian Wojnarowski Verified account @wojverticalnba 1m 1 minute ago More Clarification on deal: Besides its 2017 FRP, Philly sends '18 Lakers pick w/ protections. If it doesn't convey, 76ers send 2019 Kings pick. That is completely pathetic. Booooooooooo!

Brooklyn will get the #1 anyways 😀

I think it's pathetic.
The only maybe good thing maybe is we instead of picking a high pick this year and a high pick next year we get Butler this year and a high pick next year and hopefully a high pick next year.
That's it

That's it Honestly, Ainge didn't view Fultz as a superstar, and feels he can still draft a player with similar value at 3. Plus he gets a chance to get the #2 next year, and pair it with the #1 we're going to get with the Brooklyn pick. So best case scenario, we get #3 this year, and #1 and #2 next year.

The buzz is that there is another shoes to fall, so I'm gonna wait to see what that is before concluding anything.
One thing I like about Danny is that he does what he thinks is best. It seems obvious that that's what you should do, but there are plenty of people in the NBA (and in life) who will follow what the crowd thinks because it protects them from criticism.

Here is the official word from the Celtics on the protections on the picks...
Steven A Smith has reported that the Bulls approached the Sixers with a 3rd pick plus prospects for Butler proposal and Sixers turned them down. He says that now Danny is trying to get Butler with prospects plus [HASH]3.

Our biggest need is the 5 spot..Horford is better at the 4. And next year we have a chance to get a top big man. So I say Tatum and draft picks. Plus IT or Bradley might price themselves out of our reach which means depth will be key...and no better depth than a lottery pick waiting to impact off the bench

Butler does get us closer to beating the Cavs (but not the Warriors), but we'll most likely still fall short as long as Lebron is still playing like this -- so I'd prefer to keep building our future. We'll still be competitive and go deep in the playoffs, even without Butler (but we need to get Hayward).

I'm not a big fan of Butler's but I can't say which is better. Every draft pick is iffy until you watch them play against NBA level competition. And Butler seems to be redundant, especially if we are going for Hayward. I just don't know so I am trusting Danny to do what is best.

I read a quote from Colangelo that said that he had been having trade conversations with Mike Zarren (our assistant GM) about the 2018 draft pick for a year now, and he seems to think we really like the 2018 draft.
When I hear this, I think it'll take more than Jimmy Butler to get us to trade any of our 2018 lottery picks.

I hope Danny doesn't trade away any of 2018's draft picks (unless it is for a superstar, or one in the making).
I wouldn't for Jimmy Butler. I'd rather take our chances by drafting these high potential players in the next few drafts, and see if we can build a dynasty from within like the Warriors did.
