Now it's getting downright weird. According to this article, Danny turned down Butler for the 3rd pick straight up. This seems to be unbelievable for 2 reasons. One, I don't see the Bulls valuing Butler that low that they would make an offer for the 3rd pick straight up. And two, I don't see Danny valuing that pick so much that he would turn down Butler for it.

I'm extremely confident that you know far more about both players than I do. I just have a sense that Fox could be very special. Yeah, he could be. He's got a really good personality, he steps up to the challenge, great speed, fairly good handles, etc. And an improved jumper will help bump him up to a higher level. But where Smith excels from Fox is his craftiness and quick burst in tight quarters.

I feel as if Danny has 10 different disposable phones calling 10 different "sources" to spread 10 different bits of news. Oh and he puts on a false voice for each call. I just cant see him turning down Butler for the 3rd. But I think that by spreading the misinformation, he gets the media to question other GMs for him and gets those GMs to start pondering trades they may not necessarily have considered.

From Woj. Tremendous appetite around the NBA to trade into the Top 4 to select Kansas' Josh Jackson, league executives tell @thevertical.
makes me wonder if Jackson is indeed Danny's guy.
NESN is reporting that they have been going back and forth between Tatum and Jackson.

So if Phoenix really, really wants either Jackson or Tatum or even someone else, and Danny thinks these guys are so close that he still can't decide, why not trade down a spot and extract another asset - meanwhile still getting either Jackson or Tatum? There's really no risk there if it's a coin flip anyway.

Celtics reportedly have made strong offer for Paul George according to WEEI.

I feel the rumors have sorta quieted down. I could definitely see Ainge trying to play spolier to PG going to LA if PG will agree to a long deal, but that's it.
I think the pick will be Jackson at 3

3 straight up for Jimmy B doesn't work. It means the Celts taking on about 11mill and that kills our ability to get free agents and the Bulls know that.
Theyd love to shed 11mill. Ainge wont let that happen

After reading some rumors I think it's possible the Celts have made some sort of offer that doesn't involve our top assets. The idea might be to bring him here, sign Hayward. Draft some great player. Show him great picks coming down the pike. Convince him to stay and win a ton of rings here.

If we construct the team, the way you pointed out, and we make it to the ECF again, but this time challenge the Cavs to a game 7, it could very well entice George to stay long term with us, knowing that as our young players further develop, we have a chance to be true contenders.

But Phil Jackson is the one who is putting Porzingis out there (he wants to trade him), so he'll likely take the best offer, even if it is less than equal value. We hear that he wants Josh Jackson, so if we offer #3 and Jae Crowder, maybe Phil settles for that.

I want to see his medicals, talk to him, and talk to his agent
