This is reported to be a deep draft (can't really say until we can assess the draft years down the road). But really, I think most will say that Fultz is one who has the greatest chance to be really special.
If we land the [HASH]2, or the [HASH]3 or [HASH]4, do y'all think Ainge keeps it? Or will he package it along with players for Player X?

Depends who winds up with the [HASH]1, and if we get the [HASH]2. It's certainly possible that Fultz would still be there at [HASH]2. In any case, I'm going to wait to see what tonight brings before speculating.

I think if Cleveland handles us fairly easily we keep the pick. If we push this to 7 games Ainge and Co. may look to move that pick.

So the thinking is if we can push CLE this year, we're in win now mode, and we'll try to acquire a star player using the pick, and take our chances against Lebron next year. I can see that.

That makes sense to me as well. Unless Danny really believes that Fultz is special, ie not just an All-Star, but a superstar.

Being that we are way ahead of schedule, or where we (Ainge) expected be in Year 4 of Brad's tenure, he may have to rethink his strategy. If we are on the verge of contention, he may have to scrap his plan of building through the draft. Maybe now is his time to replicate the summer of 2007 (to a lesser degree) and trade away our assets to bring in the stars who will put us in the same sentence as CLE and GS.

YESSSSSSSSS!!!! Finally! I think my heart was pounding more during this than during Game 7. I don't think we should overthink this. Take Fultz. He can play alongside IT, or with AB. And we will finally have another playmaker and another scorer.
I don't worry about too many guards. Smart played mostly SF anyway when it mattered.
PG: IT, Fultz, Rozier SG: AB, Fultz, Rozier SF: Crowder, Smart, Brown PF: Horford, Olynyk, Yabusele C: Zizic, Olynyk
Plus: Gordon Hayward? Freeing up Rozier and Crowder for another big?
I think Zeller, Amir, Jerebko, and Young are all gone next year.

To me, it's gotta be Fultz. He's the most skilled player in the draft.
I wonder how quickly he crack the rotation? Fultz enters the NBA more advanced than Jaylen, and Brown is already getting playing time.

Fultz enters the NBA more advanced than Jaylen, and Brown is already getting playing time. IMO he could see minutes off the bench pretty quick. He only has to fit into a defined role (scorer off the bench) rather than try to be one of the main cogs, so I think it will be easier for him to slide into the rotation that it would for most rookies. Plus he and IT are "tight" from being fellow Huskies.

He would be cutting into Smarts minutes as he can fill in for both Bradley and IT when they are on the bench.

I don't know that Smart will even be here next year. If our best three guards are IT, AB and Fultz (soon if not right away), and we have Brown coming on at SF, as well as possibly adding Hayward, IMO Smart, Crowder and Rozier are all on the trading block. I think we'd keep either Smart OR Rozier as a 4th guard, but not both.
