I would definitely assume that one of AB, IT4, Smart or Rozier will not be on this team next year.

As much as I dislike Smart's offensive definciencies, he's an elite defensive player, a Ray Lewis linebacker type. He comes up with huge defensive plays, like he did in Game 7 vs the Wiz.
I think there's value in that. But will he survive the numbers crunch when guys like Rozier, Fultz, and Jaylen can offer more as 2 way players?

I think we should trade Smart to the Patriots. He'd be an awesome strong safety.

My Dolphins can use him as our middle linebacker. Not a lot of speed, but toughness and a nose for the ball. Zach Thomas 2.0?

From the Globe:
"Of course, all teams have multiple four-number combinations, so the possibility exists that a team’s numbers could be drawn more than once. If that happens, the balls are returned and the drawing is redone.
The Celtics entered Tuesday with 250 combinations, the most of any team, and they had a 25 percent chance of securing the No. 1 overall pick. Their numbers 7, 1, 9, and 10 hit, and they got the top pick.
But after that, the lottery got a bit bizarre. According to Pagliuca, who witnessed the drawing, one of the Celtics’ other combinations came up for the second pick.
The balls were then replaced, and then one of the Celtics’ combinations came up a third time. There was no value in hitting the lottery three times in a row in the same drawing, but there was just a 1 in 64 chance of that happening before the drawing began.
Perhaps the Celtics, who had never won the lottery before, were just making up for lost time."

Uh oh. I hear the conspiracy theorists revving up their twitter accounts.

If we find it one day that the system was rigged from the beginning, it wouldn't surprise me. The world is not what it seems.

I would be surprised. I don't think the league would have conspired to have Duncan wind up in San Antonio, or Towns in Minnesota. Or have Cleveland get the top pick four times since 2003. If anything like that ever turned out to be true I think a lot of us would walk away from watching.
