www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2014/09/05/celtics-president-says-rajon-rondo-didn-ask-team-for-trade/NrJVjqIANUOHRidDH00HlI/story.htmlAccording to the Celtics, rondo and his agent he did not. I also saw that video with Ainge and Wyc a week ago and Rondo and all of them looked really good. I need to stop reading the media. There's something astray there. It's pretty bad if the media can just constantly lie like that and make stuff up. What does that mean? They are liars and not good people and just will say anything for their own attention and to create drama for themselves? We'll find out I guess. Aren't there like laws against that kind of stuff? I don't know. If they are saying it I guess there has to be some truth to it although it can just be construed as her opinion but she flat out said these things. Either way someone is lying.

What Gotham said can be construed too saying he hasn't made any "demand" directly to the Celtics. To avoid any fines from the league. The feeling could be that he wants out though. Who knows but everything around the Celtics seems like they are going ahead with him and all is well.
Kevin Love never demanded a trade either. But the feeling was pretty known he wanted out. Still hope all is well and Rondo stays and that the media would just go away. Better things to focus on.

Rondo stays and I get the feeling they are building with him and the rumros really are bs I take fresh and his 10 to 1 odds. I just read the rumors and the internet it's hard to know. We trade Rondo for a center I'll take those odds too. We do something else and this becomes a rebuilding year again and a team caught in between we aren't going to win the division. It depends on what move we make really. Aigne could come up with a good deal outside of that where I still take those odds. I might take them anyways. Those are good odds. Just waiting for the smoke to clear a bit more. If you want to think about it I'll keep that offer out there for a little while longer. If you were game, what did you want to make the bet for?

I don't want to put you in a big hole. I could probably go up to $100 on something like that make it worthwhile that's a lot of money if I win. $10 is probably more just fun.

10 to 1 odds is really good when you think about man. I could get rich off that lol without losing much if I lose. But I don't think i'd do that to you. Why I say just a gentleman's bet of 10 bucks.

I'd do that. I'm optimistic about this team. My only concern is we are going to get caught in between with the rondo the situation but like I was saying unless there is some deal that pops up keeping him is still the best option to me. I think we are too talented not to make some noise this year although we have a ton of guys and a bit not sure how it all fits yet. With a healthy rondo and some focus, some good coaching and rotations by stevens, and players buying into a winning mindset including stevens himself, we can win the division imo.
My issue is most of the time especially on the internet its that grass is always greener mindset and you need this and that to win and we coast sometimes and lose that focus imo. Where if this team just did the best they could we'd win imo. We are talented enough to do that. The media is like that too a lot of the time. If we think we are going to stink we are going to stink. I don't usually think that.

Rondo, Smart, Pressey, Bradley, Thornton. Those are all talented guards imo. Green, Turner, Wallace, Young. Those are good sf's. Sully, KO, Zeller, Fav, Bass. Those are good bigs to me. Rondo is our lone star. I think Green can be better. I think Smart is a talented guy. I also think KO and Sully are really good too. Turner is a real nice pickup. Our draft was good. How we are going to fit all these guys and play them is tricky. We have a ton of draft picks coming up too. I feel like moves are going to be made, but this team has talent.
If Rondo is a catalyst and we can figure out rotations and KO surprises we can be very good imo. Fav has a solid year at center defensively with Zeller and guys gel. I tend to think Ainge is going to take some of our depth and picks and turn it into another star or 2 and draft some guys too ultimately but even still. Having a deep team can do some damage.
Even Joel Anthony isn't horrible as a 3rd center.

Trying to figure out the rotation there is tricky. I would start Rondo and Bradley. I'd start Green. I'd bring smart and pressey and thornton off the bench. Turner needs to be a cog. Wallace we need to showcase him and involve him somehow. Young can maybe sit back for a bit but I'd like to see him play too. Start Sully or KO. That's a tough call. Zeller and Fav should play minutes at the 5 to give us a presence there. Bass also needs to be figured in.
I feel like this team is primed to make a trade somewhere unless Stevens is a genius and can figure out a way to play 12 guys and have them all contribute in some way which I wouldn't put past him.

I've said this before and I want this team to be a running team and take on Tommy's personality in ways and to do that you need depth. I want this team to play for Tommy and run... Rondo is the key there. He has to buy in and so does everyone else.
I can envision what I want. I want a team that can run and has bigs that will get out and get out in front ala KO and Bass crash the boards like sully. Centers who can give us length. Shooters who can stretch the floor and shoot the ball from the perimeter. But the goal is to attack in transition.
In order to do that you need good perimeter defense and the ability to clog the lane and defend and good pg play. We don't have a true center as it stands. Tim Duncan would go well but we don't have that yet. We do have Favarani and Zeller who can do some things though.

Running the ball starts w/ stops. You can not run the ball if the opponent is consistently scoring.

you also need bigs who can stretch the floor so the guards can attack. This is why the Celtics usually like bigs like Duncan and KG because they can stretch the floor. Zeller and KO can do this. Sully can crash the boards. Bass is a hustle guy. Favarani is probably the closest thing we have to a rim protector right now. He is like a poor mans Duncan. Still like fav and think he can surprise some people.
You need wings who are versatile and athletic and can stretch the fllor. You need guards who can defend and attack in transition and share the ball and can shoot it. We don't have that star power or that one guy who can do all these things in one. But if you look at our depth. Green, Turner, Wallace and Young all do that in different ways. Rondo, Bradley, Pressey, Thornton, Smart all do this too. It's going to take good coaching by Brad and good use of depth.

We can be a team like phoenix was last year and surprise some people. With multiple pg's too and rondo being a catalyst.

I tend to think Ainge ultimately is going to trade off some of these guys. Get better pieces over time as we draft and make trades to upgrade certain things but for the time being we have good pieces in theory that can get better over time and that's kind of the whole point. We might not have the end all be all but we are set up where we can be good and improve.
Right now we kind of have too much of that. We have 5 guys at each spot that all can do some things which isn't necessarily a bad thing. how it all fits is going to take some brad stevens but yeah.
i'll take fresh on that bet. 10 to 1 odds hell yeah. I'd say our odds of winning the division are much better than the pundits give us credit for. ESPN has us ranked like 29th. I dont' buy that.
It ultimately depends on if the Celtics buy in though. This could be another year where they just don't and are waiting for something else and I hate that. We have enough picks where we don't have to do that. I can see this team just being defeatists but if I had anything to say about it I wouldn't have it that way. Too many fans and the internet is that way and the cletics read that stuff and start thinking the same way. I hate that. I wish the Celtics would have a mind of their own and decide for themselves. This is what used to make them great.

It's a deal. So if the C's win the division I pay you $100, and if the C's lose the division you pay me $10.
