I think if rondo is signed it would have to be with some plan in place to put players around him. I just hope we don't end up like the pats who lowball brady then make poor roster decisions and let players walk and spend money unwisely sometimes. The red sox do this too. I still don't understand letting ellsbury go and salty who fit then they sign aj pierzinski and Jackie Bradley who wasn't ready. They did the same thing with johnny damon.
The pats did the same with ty law. They now have the jets cornerback so hopefully it has come around this year and the pats will finally get a ring as brady is on his last legs but all that in between. when they paid Darrell revis max money and didn't do that for years and never won.
the Celtics did this too. They refused to pay tony allen then sign Marbury and Shaq for the same money and he doesn't even play. I dislike that stuff a lot.

we aren't even decided if we are building with youth or rondo at this point. Rondo ahs to fit in with these guys. He has to show he can lead a team before we give him that money. DA is smart in that regard waiting to make rondo show that first before he does anything. It goes both ways. It increases his value if he has a good year in trades it also increases his value to us people seem to overlook.
If rondo has a great year and is leading these young guys its like why trade him? we now have the brady of pgs and all is well. He was hurt last year.

fans hated on ellsbury and salty for y ears. I listened to it. I bet they miss them now. Salty was a good catcher if you looked at the stats and as a presence behind the plate. He was an above average catcher. I remember having this argument with a friend of mine because he thought salty stunk. He didn't stink. The red sox suck this year because they let those 2 guys walk.
Same thing happened with ty law. They are now paying Revis max money years later after they haven't won for years.
The Celtics are in a different position that that where we are "rebuilding" but we also aren't. We have to make a decision on if rondo is that guy or not.
The red sox won when they had Damon and Variteck and Ellsbury and Salty. Coincidence? nope. Same with the pats and ty law. The Celtics are coming from a different position but Rondo is still one of those guys in ways.

Rondo is in the last year of his deal teams are putting together there roster now you have to decide what your going to do now Rindos value is dropping by the day. A team competing is going to be hard pressed to give up anything of value at the deadline for a rental never mind disrupt chemistry Rondo is a ball dominate PG

I disagree. He is in a contract year. This year is the year to decide that. We have marcus smart waiting in the wings. a decision needs to be made but it's a contract year for rondo where he can decide in ways. Marcus Smart doesn't effect him that way.
If it doesn't work out we trade him and lose nothing. we have a ton of draft picks already and rondo having a year where he doesn't gel doesn't effect his value that much as far as trades. If it works out and he has a huge year for us we better pay the man.
his value isn't going lower than what it is.

his value isn't going lower or higher. It's more about making that decision. He wants 5 years 100 mil. he's not suddenly going to ask more than that. His value isn't going lower than isiaah Thomas and mclemore and whatever crap offer that was either. It's all posturing anyways.

If anything his value can only go up in trades and his pricetag can go down as far as resigning him. He was hurt last year. He's going to be a year removed from that and healthy this year.

we paid Bradley 8 mil. We didn't throw max money at him or Green. Teams threw max money at guys like Gerald Wallace. Bradley and Green's contracts are about right based on their age, production and talent level and upside. Teams threw money max money at Gerald Wallace when he wasn't a max player. Wallace made an all-star team. Green, and Bradley couldn't even dream of an all-star team. Both shoot a terrible FG%, 41%.

8 mil for these guys is about right to me though. Neither guy played with rondo last year and Jgreen fg% is at about 45 percent in his career. Bradley's is also much higher. This is why I hope DA doesn't listen to the fans and just does his thing though. People need better things to talk about. Unless we are getting Kevin Durant or something there really is no reason to trade these guys.

Seems like almost every player is getting overpaid this off season. Makes Green and Bradley's contracts not look all that bad.

Seems like almost every player is getting overpaid this off season. Makes Green and Bradley's contracts not look all that bad. When I see Hayward, and Parsons get max or near max contracts, Bradley looks like a steal. My issue w/ Green, probably just like everyone else is why he can bring it for 1 game, then have 3 not so great games afterwards.
