What happend to all the black players.... Haha I know right? At first you don't notice it because the league was segregated right away. And then they got into the sixties I was like, "Well, they must be waiting till the end for Russell. But once they got in the 80s i knew that something was up. That guy that makes them puts out other white power sports stuff. Takes all kinds I guess.

In watching the basketball games last night and all of ESPN's pregame coverage, I am sure we all saw Lebron's and Wade's new commercials ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdtejCR413c and www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcX7yJSttrU , respectively). I couldn't even tell that either was selling shoes. I can understand the Lebron commercial from the perspective that he needs to re-establish the popularity of his brand/explain himself after his decision this summer, but Wade's seemed more like a commercial to sell tickets for Miami than to sell a sneaker. (I did like it when he is trying to dodge the obstacle of the green van with a shamrock on it though!) That being said, I though Derrick Rose's new shoe commercial was better than both combined. (Maybe it's because I have a wacky sense of humor and love Slim Chin's outrageous personality). Aside from being comedic, its marketing point centered around the idea of being fast is clear and related to selling shoes. I have embedded it below for your viewing pleasure:

Getting Rondo was such a great pickup by Ainge. How he slipped that far in a pretty weak draft is amazing. Here's a vid of Moses Malone. He's another one of those guys that I wished I could've seen operate in his prime. I only remember the old, broken down Moses with the Bucks and Spurs. Dude was a beast on the glass. And for a little guy he held his own with Kareem. Probably the best offensive rebounder of the last 30 years. www.youtube.com/watch?v=9XCtRW50sG8
