AND he sells Crunch bars? The man is a sales genius!
Raytheon? Never heard of it. This is obviously a comment on their product, not on Larry's marketing skill
Is still own that hat!

omg. Greg Oden was in there at the 56 second mark! He's a time traveler and came to the NBA when the fundamentals were so bad that 40 year olds could be stars

Larry Bird laying the smack down against the Pistons in the 85 playoffs:
A few things to take note of:
1) Bill Laimbeer is a steaming pile.
2) People that didn't watch Bird play assume he was a perimeter guy. And while Bird could bring death from above from beyond the arc, the dude scored a ton of points in the post. That one handed floater (with either hand) was a killer.
3) People like to talk about how great 1980s NBA basketball was and how today's game doesn't compare (I am often one of these people), but the game back then had its warts as well. Check out John Long's defense at the 1:30 mark. He isn't even facing his man! That would get you benched for life in today's NBA.
4) Kelly Tripucka is a unique looking individual.

Hondo was old and in his last season. Jo Jo White was heading a bit south - still good, don't get me wrong. Cowens had issues with management. $ $ $ The drafts just before '78 were weak, to say the least. Tommy Heinsohn was replaced by Tom 'Satch' Sanders. Not the right move. Nothing against Satch.... Wicks and Rowe were brought in for Paul Silas. Issues all around that. wow... lol C17, when it comes to Wicks and Rowe, could you tell they were bad news when they were on the court?

C17, when it comes to Wicks and Rowe, could you tell they were bad news when they were on the court? Sorry it took me so long to get back here. Busy busy.... They were just past their "good years" when we got them. The Celts were trying to add a bandaid to an older team. The old guys were near to gone and the draft wasn't going to do the trick fast enough. Wicks and Rowe had their issues. I didn't see them play much. Just watched the newspaper clippings, for the most part. And yes, we used to have words printed on paper... lol They didn't hurt the Celts so much. The team just could have used them a couple years earlier.

Fantastic late season game between the Blazers and Celtics during Bird's final season. It was Bird's last truly spectacular game and is still one of the greatest games I've ever seen. If you click on this link, there will be other links listed allowing you to watch the entire fourth quarter and both overtimes.
A few notes from this game:
-Man those early 90s C's teams had a tough time handling athletic opponents. Remind you anyone you know?
-Mark Bryant played the game of his life. Dude was nuts on the boards throughout the the late stages of this game.
-Buck Williams was good.
-Clyde Drexler was real good.
-Larry Bird was real, real good.
-The 91 C's had a ton of offensive power. With Parish, McHale, Bird, and Lewis, they'd have four guys on the court at the same time that could always get their shot off. Plus they had two PGs in Bagley and Douglas that excelled in running the halfcourt offense.
-It's a shame those early 90s Blazer teams never won a title. They were fun to watch and they all seemed like pretty good guys.
-That shot that Bird hit at the end of regulation was nuts. I remember freaking out in our old trailer house when he hit it.
