Ok, for kicks and giggles, play with me on this one. In typical Ainge fashion, he accumulates young players and draft picks, and cashes in by trading them for big star players.
Do you think trading for Harden and Cousins would put us in contention?
Think about a lineup of Isaiah Thomas, James Harden, Al Horford and DeMarcus Cousins -- would that put us in the same category as the Cavs and the Warriors?
Of course, we'd have to gut most of our lineup and trade away our young talent (say goodbye to Avery, Smart, Crowder, Olynyk, Jaylen, Rozier, Mickey and our future draft picks). But Harden, Cousins and IT have lots of years left in their prime, and could quite possibly stay together for awhile.
What would you say about this team?
