Thinking about next year (since it may not be likely we make a major move to bring in another highly touted big man this year), which type of Center would be a better fit for this team?
A light weight, long limbed, quick footed, springy, shot blocking big, ala Nerlens Noel?
A strong, active, relentless, physical, but less fleet footed, less shot blocking, but better at positioning big like Ante Zizic?
Noel is a free agent next year, and Washurn says he wouldn't be surprised if we showed interest in obtaining him.
Zizic is having a great year overseas, and will be coming over next year.
Which type of big man will better suit our needs?

My first thought is a relentless rebounder, given our troubles with "finishing" defensive possessions. But in this day and age he needs to have a decent shooting touch so our spacing doesn't go to pot. Zizic does show flashes, and I can't help but think when I see highlights of his play how he might fit a need for us.

Why not both? Al at p.f. We need one person to be a enforcer.. Who is going to intimidate those seeking easy baskets.
Then my brain tells me that Danny is not interested in my opinion and just wants a mobile shooting guy.

I saw a report on CSNNE tonight about how there is a 50-50 chance that Sacramento trades Cousins sooner rather than later because they are struggling again. I started to think what it would take to get him and I don't want to give up much of our young talent to bring in Cousins. We have Zizic waiting in the wings. I say wait a year and bring Zizic over and keep the young guys that develop this year. Draft a top 3 player with the BKN pick. Sign a free agent. We'd be in good shape.

So I'll put the spotlight on you, FL. Would you trade for Cousins for the right price?

I don't think there is a specific type we need more than the other. Noel would be an upgrade over Amir, as would more of a plodding big man like Nikola Vucevic. We just need more talented bigs.
If Zizec can develop like we hope he can, a Horford/Noel/Zizec big man rotation could be pretty slick.

From what I've also read on that, the Kings believe Cousins' value is much higher than the rest of the league perceives it to be and their asking price is astronomical. We could be giving up key starters right now just to get Cousins which would set us back to square one.

Which type of big man will better suit our needs? Noel is a restricted FA and I'm sure Philly will match then trade him later. No point in letting him go for nothing. Plus they'll dangle Okafor as much as they can as well. I like Zizic but are we sure his stats arent a result from playing overseas? Can he be an enforcer or is he racking up stats without bring the toughness we need. Because that was like Kevin Love with his meaningless rebounds but teams that never won because he was considered soft. I hope Zizic is more like Gortat.

Heres a suggestion...move Al back to Centre and trade for Kenneth Faried which I don't think will take much. Make him be the primary rebounder ala Dennis Rodman and allow Horford to play a stretch center with Faried bringing energy to the middle. Seriously...make it his only job...rebounding. The dude can rebound pretty well. Question is what would it take to get him? Nuggets have guys who are blocking his path and he is averaging career lows in minutes but is still grabbing 8.3 boards per game...I'd dangle a future first rounder for him in 2019 and chuck over James Young and Jordan Mickey.

Kinda expensive for a one dimensional player -- makes 12 mil this year, 13 next season, and nearly 14 the year after.
That'll cut into our cap flexibility that we're saving for a star next summer.
But I like your thinking.

But I like your thinking. If we keep hope that Brown will become close to a superstar, Bradley is close to at least an all-star but won't be a superstar, that IT is an all-star, Horford is an all-star and even Crowder with his multi-dimensional strengths is close to an all-star, then thats a pretty strong unit needing just one gap to fill...rebounding and some post D. Once we handle that, we let him go to work on the boards, and leave the scoring to 4 different options. Also i'd argue that 12 -13 and 14 isnt much given that we're expecting the salary cap to increase and even guys like Evan Turner is getting more than that.

Our ball movement offense needs guys that can think fast and pass well in addition to their other skills. Guys like Whiteside, Cousins and Noel would be a problem. IMO Marc Gasol is a great example of the skill set we want.

I like Faried alot, and he is a relentless rebounding machine. BOS needs a PF or a C that will rebound the ball. BOS really misses Turner, and Sully, because those were the team's top 2 rebounders.

I have liked zizics potential.. However I am getting doubtful about his defensive presence.. His last game he scores 28 and grabs 7 boards in Europe! I think he looks more offensive than a rebounder, rim protector..
