Not only on rebounding, but our frontcourt also lacks shotblocking. Mickey is not showing anything right now that gives me confidence in him being the solution.
We need a guy like Tristan Thompson; and the reason why I use him as the example is because he's a guy who does an excellent job of rebounding and anchoring the defense in the middle, and yet he's just a role player. Doesn't need the limelight, doesn't cry for offensive plays -- just goes out and hits the boards, defends and score off of putbacks.
Enter Ante Zizic?
We don't necessarily need an All-Star Center (Tristan is not one either). Just a lunch pail guy who will crash the boards hard and be an anchor on defense. That sounds like what Zizic is all about.

az seems to have a great offensive game.. But if he is a beast in the middle I am content with that

I don't think he'll provide great offense. Even in the highlights of what he's doing now, he appears more to be a complementary, opportunistic scorer.
But again, that's all what we need from him offensively. Its his defense and rebounding where we need him to excel.
I really hope he can be that guy because this year's draft doesn't offer many great Center prospects.

Opportunistic scorers are what guys like Kenneth Faried, DeAndre Jordan, Hassan Whiteside and a bunch of other rebounders are..which isn't a bad thing because you don't need a big guy trying to pull post moves but rather just roll to the basket when he needs to or grab offensive rebounds for putback dunks.

Exactly. Give me 10 boards and 2 blocks per game, and i don't care if all he scores is 8 - 10 pts. Do we think Zizic can be this guy?

I think Zizic can be that guy right away and I'm still surprised we didn't keep him around for even the Summer League to see how he does..

We're already playing a young second unit, with Jaylen, Rozier and Mickey (though Jordan hasn't proved to be ready for major minites off the bench). Might not have been an ideal situation to have another young player.
Maybe Ainge and Brad's thinking was to stash Zizic for a year and let him play lots of minutes, get his confidence up, and then come over when his season is over to play the final legs of the NBA season?
