Ball movement will be the key to our success this year. This style needs all 5 guys on the floor to make quick decisions - make a move or pass it in, like, 2 seconds. Horford is brilliant at this and will be trying to drag everyone up to his level. I expect anyone who pounds the ball or takes too long looking for a shot to be getting lots of bench time. We can't tolerate ball stoppers.
I was worried about IT but he really showed me something in his last game, with 19 points and no pounding. Let's hope he can keep up that kind of good work. This is a new style for him and must be very challenging.
Marcus moved the ball really well in the pre-season. I am hoping this keeps up as well.
I think Rozier will have to learn fast, this is new for him also.
KO is the other concern, he has to make quicker decisions. He certainly has the skills, hopefully this will be the perfect style for him.
AB and Crowder will never be ball stoppers - it's guys that are used to "creating their own shot" that stop the ball.

The ball movement was really fast and crisp with the starting unit during the preseason. I think the plan with IT is to use him more in catch & shoot opportunities, along with pick & rolls with Horford.
I'll be disappointed if our ball movement slows down and guys are pounding the ball into the ground.

I agree. The ball movement with that first unit was really good. The second unit at times slowed it down but hopefully both units will play that fast uptempo style and move the ball with the pass more than dribbling around the court. I really hope they keep it up and not lapse back into a slowdown game.

As far as Rozier, if he is on the court with majority of the second unit guys, he might need to, at times, hold onto the ball and look for ways to penetrate and make scoring easier for his teammates.
But if he's predominantly playing with the starters (say he is subbing in for Avery Bradley), then the ball better not be stuck in his hands.

There were signs in the pre-season, particularly from the Knicks game, that the league might be moving in this direction. It is possible that the era of the high-scoring point guard is behind us (yes!). This is old-school ball and I love it. There is a good reason that the team with the most rings has never had a scoring leader. I will be watching other teams closely to see if they move away from hero ball. The Hardens, Westbrooks and Durants of the world may quickly become dinosaurs If this is the case we are well positioned for [HASH]18.

Well, I guess the Warriors are shoe ins. They play unselfish ball better than anyone else.
We're getting there, but we don't have the amount of scoring threats they do.

Until the Green implosion the Warriors were incredible last year, but that was last year. Without Bogut their interior defense is weak, and this is a completely new style for KD. The jump shots he will take were already being made by Curry and Thompson, so he is not a big offensive upgrade (there is only one ball) and he is a defensive downgrade. He will have to rebound, pass and play D to add value, and he will have to play a lot of 4 to keep Iggy on the floor. I think the Spurs will kill them inside. Even in the 3-ball era it's a big man's game.

I heard a quote by Doc yesterday, which I think is accurate. Paraphrasing, it was something like we don't know what's going to happen for 45 minutes of a game. But its the final 3 minutes where having Durant is really going to make a difference.
Who can you focus your defense on? Curry? Klay? Durant? Draymond? All are capable of knocking down three's, all can drive to the basket, all can hit their free throws.

When you get to that point, all you have to do is execute your gameplan and if they do score (which is near inevitable), then you have to answer on the other end. Good thing is that Curry, Klay and Durant aren't exactly All-Defensive players so whilst they have the offense sorted, they can be scored on as well.

KD cannot guard the good 3's, it was painfully obvious last night. And they can't guard a true big - Draymond is only a force at the 4. The "experts" are all wrong
