Early start of a thread, after a needed win.
This is a test. Do you find it easier to get to the game thread on this board? Or something you would go to more often? If you were new to CG, what whould work best? Even if your not....so new that is...?
You know that new kitten or puppy wears off over time. ;D

Should be a terrific game to watch. I enjoy watching Dwight Howard play. What an incredibly advanced player he is for his age. Nothing short of a spectacular physical specimen who is playing well beyond his years. Quick and explosive and well polished. Excellent footwork around the basket and a force on the boards.
We also get to watch Jameer Nelson, Delonte's backcourt teammate at St. Joe's. Maybe Delonte will be well enough to play in this game. Should be a trip for the both of them to have to start against one another and go up against each other.

I'm interested in seeing how the young guys play, coming off a win that they were given minute in. I would also like to see Blount at the far end of the bench again. Maybe he could move a couple rows up into the stands too. Wouldn't he look better in a sport-coat rather than a Celtic uniform?

We actually have a trend going. Orien got the starting nod against ATL and the next game, Perkins started.
Orien needs to start shooting the ball more. He had some open looks that he passed up in favor of driving into the lane. Nothing was there for him in the lane and he would have had a higher percentage shot by taking that jumper. Instead, he ended up turning the ball over twice. He's probably not confident with his jumper, but when its there, he's got to take it. Make or miss, he has to take it. At least if it misses, we have Perkins and Raef there to go after an offensive board.
In the Globe, Doc says that he doesn't know if he'll change the lineup for this game. He may very well stick with Perkins as the starter. Good move because Blount needs to learn his lesson. I doubt he gets it after just one DNP-CD. Plus Perkins looked like he was gaining confidence out there.

I've been looking for the young guys since draft day. I want this team to go young. Add PP, RD and RL and a couple bench-vets and we'll be fine. Better next year... Scale and Dickau?

It only makes sense. Our real contributors in the future are going to be our young guys. Instead of prohibiting their progress, get a head start and just play them. At the same time, we don't want them developing bad habits, so making them learn from the vets (Pierce, Ricky, Raef) may be the right way for the time being.
I don't know if Doc is doing this, but he should have Jefferson going up against Perk everyday in practice. I mean, what a way to learn how to battle bruising big men and for Perkins, what a way for him to learn how to move his feet to stay in front of the quicker Jefferson.
They'll never learn anything by going up against Blount.

Judging by reading the article from Shira Springer, we may not see Blonut play against Orlando.
Sounds like the Celtics are going to make an effort on Defence and Rebounding. Talk and a 1 hour practice isn't going to turn this program around.
Blonut sounds like he is going in the crapper again. That is bad, but if Perkins and Jefferson can get some confidence and chemistry going, that would be great.

In a way, Blount's troubles are a blessing because it may finally force Rivers to use Perk and Jefferson more.
We are going to need a big effort tomorrow because Dwight Howard is averaging over 12 boards a game.

BTW, its looking likely that Delonte is going to suit up for tomorrow's game and get the start. Rivers is shaking his head at how quickly young guys are able to recupperate from their injuries. Delonte was supposed to be out for a much longer time, Tony Allen isn't taking too long to get back from his surgery, and Gerald Green's groin injury is already healed, after just one day!!!
Delonte is looking to put a defensive charge, setting up the mood for the team on the defensive end.

Why Blount. Why. I mean it's not like Doc is ruling this team with an iron fist considering blount sits and he's right back in there finishing the next game. It's one thing to get your shot blocked but then to just turn around and walk away after it happens. Blount is such a bum. Please never play for this team again.

Just what most of us, if not all, would like to see.
