I'd like to know what's going through Danny's mind as he watches our games and see's how we are struggling. Interesting to see if he thinks we can work out our struggles, or if he thinks he needs to push for moves.
We do need help inside, defending and rebounding, and our perimeter defense isn't all that great either. We are fine offensively, just need to find ways to stay in the hot zone longer. And even if our bench is second to the last in the league in scoring, I do see a brighter future in store.
I really like Gerald Wallace and would like to see him here. He's long, quick, and athletic, he has a solid shooting stroke, an aggressive mentality (especially on dunks), and a nose for steals. He'll only clutter our wing position even more, but I wouldn't mind that.

Lol! I had Wallace on my ESPN NBA 2k5 Celtics and loved him. Coming back to the real game, I like Wallace as well. He is long, athletic and a decent defender. I hope his performance is not because of a contract year ala Blount. But I dont thik the Cs can afford him. If we can get rid of Blount for him, Ill be all for it.

Well, that is a trade I would not hesitate to make. But seeing how the Bobcats arleady have Okafor, Brezec, May, and Ely, I don't know if they'd want to trade for Blount if they have to give up Gerald Wallace, one of their best players.

I might shed a tear for Blount. That's about it. I think other teams know the attitude situation.

Even without making any moves, our team should, and will, improve. But it doesn't appear to me that we can improve enough to make a big splash in the playoffs. Just not enough defense.
If I were to take a poll among Celtics fans, the majority will say that if 3 players had to be labeled untouchables, it would be Pierce, Ricky, and Jefferson.
So what trade can we make with the remaining 12 players to give us a brighter future?
Blount Raef Perkins Scalabrine Reed Gomes Gerald Tony Delonte Orien Banks Dickau
We also have a trade exemption to use as well as some 1st rounders and some 2nd rounders.

the trade exeption is only worth 2.5, so its just to make a deal work.
The ones on my trade list are blonut & Dickau. Shipping dickau would not be that hard. Blonut however is another story. But i keep saying that Blonut for Patterson works. They win player-wise, we get the better salary. I don't see how else we can get rid of Blonut. Not even Atlanta would take him even if they have the cap room. Blonut's contract is just to long. No sweetener outside of Paul, Ricky or Al would cut it.
Frankly, i would be happy with any bad contract in return as long as it is shorter than Blonut.
Another Q that ponders me: how much is Raef worth now on the market? He's a sub-par defender, but a great offensive addition. To bad about his contract...

Raef's value is most likely rising. He's putting up just under 13 and 6, and playing with a lot of hustle. His knees are not bothering him and he's running hard.
Not sure if Dickau, Blount, and the trade exemption will get us anyone worthwhile. But you're just trying to dump salary, so that might be one avenue to look at.
I'd like to see if the Clippers will take the offer above and give us Chris Wilcox. He's a power player who's barely being used in LA. They are one of the better teams in the west right now (why does that sound so weird?) and they could use a scoring big man to counter Elton Brand. Kaman is scoring less than 8 ppg so I'm sure Blount's 13.3 ppg looks pretty enticing.

There's got to be a way we can nab Gerald Wallace. This guy has really developed into a player. We seen what he did to us, but he even torched the Wizards tonight for a tune of 26 pts, 14 boards, and 5 steals. He's a dangerous fastbreak player, as well as a player who doesn't need plays called for him in order to have big scoring games.
C'mon Danny Ainge, do your magic.

Blount is up to his own tricks again. After being benched the entire game by Rivers, Blount was at practice today and left without saying a word. He's back to being a moody player again.
Time to move him, Ainge. His scoring is nice, but Perks' rebounding is better and much more needed.

I like Wallace just as much as you do BUT we shouldn't focus on another SG/SF. We are stacked at that position. We need PG or inside help.

Olowokandi could be gone by Christmas
BY CHARLEY WALTERS
Pioneer Press
Pssst: If it's possible to make a deal, look for the Timberwolves' Michael Olowokandi, who has been at his career best, to be gone by Christmas. Minnesota has been talking with Boston and Portland about a trade for the center. The Wolves are seeking scoring, and other players could be part of a package.
a 1 on 1 trade with Blonut would work, but Minnisota would have to be pretty desperate to ship Kandi if they would do this.

I like Wallace just as much as you do BUT we shouldn't focus on another SG/SF. We are stacked at that position. We need PG or inside help. I agree 100%. If we are to invest time and effort into making a move, I would rather bring in a solid, more veteran PG (Earl Watson?) or a solid veteran big man (PJ Brown?). Wallace IMO would not be nearly as productive for us, as he would have limited playing time with Davis and Pierce on our roster.

The Kandi trade one-for-one with Blount would at least bring us a shorter contract, as I believe Kandi is in the last year of his contract (and thus the "career best" effort").

Do you trade Gerald Greene for Gerald Wallace? BTW, that is meant to be a tough question because it is.
