The Celtics sign another guard (and another Marcus) as they sign Marcus Georges-Hunt to a training camp contract. He is probably going to be waived before the season and assigned to the Red Claws. I don't know much about him except what has been posted since the Celtics signed him. Maybe Darren would know more about him. He’s a 6’5’’ shooting guard/small forward out of Georgia Tech. He was a 4-year starter for the Yellow Jackets and averaged 16.7 PPG, 3.3 APG and 3.4 RPG as a senior. Interesting signing since the Celtics already had 18 on the roster.

Don't think he has much of a chance at making the team.. But maybe he's worth a gamble.. Look

I'm guessing he's just there to fill out the practice rosters during the pre-season. I'd bet dollars to donuts he's not on an NBA roster in November.

He was not drafted? Wonder why? How many undrafted kids do make the NBA? Kevin Gamble?

Like you said, I think he was signed ultimately to play for the Red Claws.
If our D-League turns out to be the way ainge envisions, we need to field a competitive minor league team where draftees and young guys can play, compete and develop into NBA players.
Marcus may not be an NBA player, but if Ainge feels he can be a tough D-League guy who can push players to play better, than this is a good signing.
