[glow=red,2,300][/glow] :oWhat is up Doc ? Why is Mark Blount STILL playing for this team ? I haven't been able to see any of the Celtic's games, but from what I have read and discussed - it is the WIMPY play of Mark! Raef has never been tough, but I think "NOW" is the time ! I hate to say this because I go against it but this team NEEDS to be a [glow=red,2,300]THUG[/glow] ! They are just way too soft, especially in the fourth quarters of games.
At this stage of the season, I am very, very, very, very, very DISAPPOINTED ! It starts with the COACH !! Doc needs to toughten UP - bench all the @#$%&* wimps now !!!! Start with MARK >>>>>>>> Our _efense has [shadow=red,left,300]no[/shadow] "D"..

Amen to that . Bring back Fortson. He may have fouled a lot, but at least he still rebounded the basketball. Right now, this team SUCKS! It is DISGUSTING to watch. This team does NOT show the HEART night in and night out. Defense starts with heart. No defense, no heart, no effort. The first three games we had heart. After that, none whatsoever other than Paul and Ricky. Giving up all of these points to mediocre teams is making me SICK. I wish that Gary Tanguay, and all of the other Celtic announcers would stop sugar coating it and tell it like it is. I agree with Donny Marshall - UNACCEPTABLE. I am proud of being a Celtic fan, but this team is making the Celtics look like a disgrace. And no matter what anybody says, if the attitude to play together, INCLUDING DEFENSE does not change, Tony Allen coming back, or D West coming back is not going to change that. I am afraid this may get worse and worse, and we may see the end of the Paul Pierce era if things do not start shaping up. And if that dreary day does happen it will take this franchise even farther back. And we should not even be hoping for a draft pick. (Greg Oden 2007) I will not set myself up for another disappointment like the 1997 lottery again, and the Tim Duncan fiasco.
(Phew). Had to vent there for a second. Sorry.....
Sometimes you just need to let it all out.
Come on Celtics. GET IT TOGETHER!!!

i agree with everything you said. if a team doesn't have a heart, an effort and subsequently a defense it's coach's fault. it's time for danny to give a little sermon to doc

Even last year, we never ever played this bad defensively.
I'm starting to think that a trade is the only solution.
Just keep Pierce, Davis, Big Al, and Gerald Green.
Anyone else should be fair game for a trade.
Our draft picks should be expendable too.
Let's go out and get a real point guard, and center.....

while i think it's a bit early to think about trades realistically i agree that we should be ready for it. i would add tony, ryan and kendrick to your list of untouchables...

Yep, we definitely are sad defensively. We just don't have difference makers on defense (Justin Reed does show early stages of being a Bruce Bowen-type player). We don't have size in the middle, really no toughness, and no aggressiveness on defense.
Danny Ainge organized a team full of offense, hoping that it could mirror his 80's Celtics teams. But those teams in the 80's could rebound the ball very well and they played rugged defense and didn't allow easy buckets inside.
Our offense is potent, but our defense is putrid.
I do think that a trade will be made if the defense does not get better by midseason.

More PT for Greene and Reed might take some pressure off of the Bigs. And the Bigs need all the help they can get.
