Do we have the best collection of perimeter defenders in the NBA today? I'm counting 6 guys who are at the very least league average, but possibly more like above average to elite:
Avery Bradley (proven All-Pro defender) Marcus Smart (most likely on his way to becoming an All-Defensive teamer) Jae Crowder (underrated and versatile defender who guards 3 to 4 positions) Terry Rozier (quick hands and quick to shoot the gaps for steals) Jaylen Brown (Danny said he could play defense in the NBA right now) Demetrius Jackson
The league has gone away from the big man and has become a guard league. It seems that is where we beefed up our defensive attention.

I believe you beat small ball with a aggressive inside game.
I believe that the Celtics are soft in the middle.
I believe we need to improve our rebounding, shot blocking.. To many times big power fowards have career nights playing us..
Yes our guards are sufficient defensively or above..Where they need to impact us more is offensively.. The best way to do that is fast break. Easy baskets.. High percentage shots.. Not trying to make them into Steph curry

Well, you gotta stop offenses from scoring, especially from beyond the arc, and that's what we are geared to do.

The only way to beat Cleveland is make lebron pay for coming up the middle.. We need a McHale to nail rambus. You can't let people fly around ....

I agree with both. You need to stop offenses from scoring on the perimeter (although, some teams are so poor from the perimeter that maybe it's better letting them shoot from there) but for the most part, you need to play tough perimeter defense. But, you also need to be able to defend the paint and especially challenge at the basket. If players get past the perimeter defense there has to be a defender to stop them inside. The best teams have both.

I agree Flfan..Well put.. We need both,we have the talent to defend the perimeter but time will tell whether we have the attitude on the interior.. That killer instinct..
