Nerlens Noel posted a tweet saying how much he loves Boston. I've seen several articles about how he is very open to a trade from Philly and that the Celtics are very interested. There are also rumors that Cleveland is very interested.
Of the two rumored Philly big men to be traded, I kind of like Noel better than Okafor because his defense is stronger and I'm a big believer that defense wins championships. I admit I haven't watched him all that closely but in the little I have watched him he seems like he's much better on defense than offense but he can score inside. I like him better than Okafor and I think he's worth giving up some assets for.
It's pretty obvious that if Embiid is indeed coming back, Philly would be best served to trade one of their bigs. Which would you prefer? And what do you think we would have to give up to get him?

I'd definitely be up for a Noel trade if the price was right. One trouble with Noel is that he'll be a RFA after this season, so he'll be up for a pretty big payday. But even so, I'd like to see him in green. If he can ever develop a midrange J, he'll be one hell of a player.

I haven't seen either one enough to have an intelligent opinion, but from what I have seen of Noel, his offense is Perkins-esque. Basically non-existent. But as I said, I haven't seen that much of him. I wouldn't give up much for him though, given his contract status and the fact that Philly HAS to move one of them.
Just curious. Has anyone seen Saric play for Croatia in the Olympics? He could be superfluous for the Sixers too. Maybe a bigger trade that would include both of them? Philly would still have Embid, Okafor and Simmons up front.

I watched Saric play one game and he looked really good. I doubt they trade him.
Noel will be up for a payday but he really wants to be in Boston and I'm thinking he may take a hometown discount to play there.

I gotta think that Noel would be a factor. Not only as a shot eraser (which we sorely need), but also as an ally oop option to get easy points (which we need too).
Now how much is a player like this worth? In a championship game, he'll be useless on offense, but his defense could come up huge.

This is his first big payday. This is the contract players always try to get as much as possible on, because you never know what could happen. This could be his only big payday.

If Ainge and Brad do like Noel, and can see him being an extraordinary fit for the team, I wonder which would make more sense.
If we traded for him (but not overpay) and lose some non-core players and a draft pick, I'm guessing we'd have his bird rights when he becomes a free agent next summer.
Or if we waited till next summer when he becomes a free agent, is there any advantage to doing this?

Waiting there is always the chance of some other team moving in and making a ridiculously high offer and overpaying. But then again, this may be like all the other rumors floating around. A lot of smoke and no fire. It's always fun to talk about the rumors but I have this feeling that when Danny makes a move it's going to be one that nobody saw coming.

Noel is singing a song his agent is writing.. And although he is a decent player, I definitely don't want to pay a lot for a rental. But don't let Cleveland get him either.. lol
