Rondo had his issues and weaknesses but he was good at certain things.. Personally I think this may be the teams greatest need. Having a true floor general who can break down defenses and run ,create half court offense can't be stressed enough.
A good point guard makes his players better. Best way to make a rookie better is have that point guard who opens lanes and gets you the ball when you are free. Jaylen Brown might have the talent to be a superstar but with our points? Nah..
We drafted smart high kind of a oxymoron lol.. When we had rondo.. I think we could be much better if we had drafted better. And used our money wiser. I forget who was available that were true point guards on the market..
Maybe we should try to coax magic Johnson to play for us..

One of the reasons I loathe the idea of trading next year's pick is because they are gonna be some very intriguing point guard options available.

I don't follow the college game much.. Generally it takes a while for them to develop. Fresh do you think we need a bridge aka veteran to fill that gap in the meantime... I assume you meant that nj pick.

Other than Rondo, Danny goes for the combo guards rather than pass first point guards. Maybe it's that mindset to get players who are more versatile. I'm not sure that maybe Rozier, Demetrius or Isaiah can't fill that role. I don't know about Marcus. He's working hard on his game so who knows.

I'm not that worried as long as there is decent ball movement over all. I don't feel like any of our guys are black holes except IT and he should be.

It is tough to find a good shooting and passing point guard.. Westbrook is one for sure lol. Are you sure that's by design, or just because there doesn't seem to be many available.. Eja I agree in theory. I love ball movement. But in half court fourth quarter players are tired and need that facet of offense.. The reason I feel we lost to the Lakers was we couldn't score during crunch time.. Missed shots. No rebounds. Gave up a big lead.. I think that floor general is essential.. If you don't have that facet you lean to heavily on jump shooters..

We lost to the Fakers in Game 7 because of Joey and Danny Crawford putting them on the line 21 times in the 4th Quarter alone vs our 6 and we were just as aggressive as they were. Overall they shot 38 FT's that game to our 17, so Stern got what he wanted.

They called that final quarter completely different than they did the rest of the game. The Celtics were leading until the refs took over. I have always thought that they did it to keep Rasheed Wallace from getting another title. I think he believed that too because after the game he went to the refs' locker room and was pounding on the door yelling at them.
