We need to get a transcendent star. Trouble is, they are reallllllly hard to get. We only got one year of peak KG, and even then we were very lucky to have gotten him.

Ok, so based on what we know about the Hawks, what are the pieces we need in order that we move into contender status that they couldn't reach? Coaching we are better.. Front court we don't have mislap Advantage Atlanta. Guards.. Toss up.. Slight advantage Atlanta.

Without seeing the affect of Horford it's hard to say exactly, but as of the end of last year...rebounding, interior defense, scoring, better shooting, better passing. My hope is Rozier, Jackson, and Smart are ready to be better passer/creators. And Horford brings better rebounding and interior D. And that several of them up the scoring and shooting. But I think we need a major star

So we need to hope and pray that one of our Brooklyn draft picks becomes a transcendent player because its really not easy to get one via free agency and trade.
Maybe Jaylen Brown turns out to be that guy. If all goes right, maybe he's comparable level to Paul George (mid to high silver medal player, but not gold)?
Or the next draft could potential give birth to a superstar. I got my eyes on Dennis Smith Jr, but maybe a guy like Hartenstein could make a leap into stardom.

My hope is that Danny finds a partner willing to trade a star for two buckets of bolts.. Cause I don't know that he can through the draft.
Even if those NJ picks are high.. And we get a player who is good.. it takes time for rookies to develop.. And I don't see a great draft record for Danny..

Danny's definitely been better in trades than in the draft. But after that heist from Brooklyn, I'm not sure he's going to find willing trade partners who aren't very skeptical and careful not to get fleeced.
