To me Isaiah or Jamal Crawford players are bench players.. Which don't get exposed as much..

Durant spoke out and said one of the reasons he didn't choose Boston was he didn't want to be a shooting guard. Durant never mentioned Boston in those comments. I think he was more talking about San Antonio, who already has 2 great forwards, Leonard and Aldridge. In Boston he starts at SF and you move Crowder to the bench. Simple as that. Right now besides Horfard we have no players that are so good they have to start. Like you've mentioned, in a perfect world even IT4 is coming off the bench (though some team is gonna pay him like a starter, so that's why i'd like to see him eventually traded).

The article I read specifically said crowder.. If you think about it.. How callous to have a meeting with the player you would be replacing in the starting rotation.. Why would you " think" it was San Antonio only and just disregard our situation..

Here's what Durant said: “I’m not coming into a team where a guy is playing my position and we have try to fit in two guys playing the same position,” Durant told The Vertical. “I’m not coming in trying to play the point guard, trying to play the shooting guard. I’m a small forward. The team didn’t have a small forward when I signed. Steph, Klay, Draymond, the bigs, we all play different positions. Whether it’s minutes, shots, opportunities, any good team will have players sacrificing. That’s the nature of the game. I’m not coming into a game saying that I need my 18 shots and I need to get to the line 12 times. I let the game flow naturally.”
He was talking about the Warriors, and only the Warriors. It had nothing to do with the Celtics. He never said anything about any of the teams he didn't choose.

Why would you " think" it was San Antonio only and just disregard our situation.. Because San Antonio has two all-NBA caliber forwards. And we have Jae Crowder. While Jae Crowder is a solid player, he is definitely not a surefire starter. And if we got Durant, I doubt Crowder would throw a hissy fit if he had to come off the bench for an MVP caliber player. Plus, Olynyk was there, so it's not like it was just all starters there. Also, what article are you referring to? This is the only thing that I've seen that actually quotes Kevin Durant. sports.yahoo.com/news/kevin-durant-i-never-told-russell-westbrook-im-staying-in-okc-234404797.html

The article I quoted was from The Vertical - which is part of Yahoo as well - and a reputable source. Durant never said anything about not choosing Boston because he didn't want to be a shooting guard.

This is just got me thinking about how awesome it would've been to get Durant. I know it's pretty darn greedy to expect the top two FA's to sign on one team, but man, that would've been something. I would've had a smile on my face for the rest of the year, or until the Vikings did something to make me lose faith in humanity, whichever comes first.

Could still happen. Who knows? Maybe he wins a title this year and has that itch scratched, and is ready for the challenge of leading a team to a title, as opposed to just being part of an ensemble cast of stars. Probably not, but maybe some groundwork has been laid, if, for whatever reason, Durant isn't content to stay in GS.

Someone that the C's passed on .. We talk about if only we had a ping pong ball fall our way and we would have Duncan.. So what about if we had drafted Tony? Those remarks fit exactly Evan Turner's role. one player trying to play two positions..

IIRC, we wanted Tony Parker, but Red wanted us to take Joe Forte -- and that's who we ended up taking.

Haha yeah Red loved Forte. He was a DC kid. Man Tony Parker would've looked good in green.
I read somewhere (possibly celticsblog) that Jan Volk was really high on either BJ Armstrong or Tim Hardaway in the 89 draft, but Red demanded we take Michael Smith. BJ would've been a fine player on those early 90s Celtics teams, but if you put Tim Hardaway on that 90-91 Celtics team, they may just make a championship run that year. People forget how good Hardaway was before his knee injury. Dude was on a CP3 type level.
