We added AL BUT I believe we are going into this season with a major hole. Rebounding! We lost sully who despite all the negatives was a good rebounder. I can see us being pushed around .. We simply must get better or I have to believe we are a 40 win team at best..
It should open your eyes looking at Al's Hawks in rebounding..So who do we focus on signing ... Tyler Zeller. Yeah somebody must want him.. Best player available for 8 million a year? This team could have had okafor. But he's not kristich.. He can't hit threes.

How do we add an all star and drop from 48 to 40 wins? Unless Danny trades half the team away for some 1 year rentals, we are not going to beat the Cavs without them sustaining some unfortunate injuries. You are right that we need some rebounding and a guy who can score at will, but even with those issues, they are still a top team in this league. Granted I believe that the quality of the league is down due to all of the "one and done's" which lead to the Warriors record more than anything. But regardless of that the Celtics are in a very good position right now I think all we need is a little patience. Now if we are in the same situation this time next year, then I think you may have a gripe, but it was never about competing for a Championship this year unless we convinced Durant to join us.
A little paitence will allow us to compete for years to come, if we are impatience and gut the roster for two rentals, then we will compete for one year and then be in terrible shape after they leave. I am talking Fakers level bad situation which to me isn't worth it unless we win a title with those rentals, maybe not even then.

Because we aren't as strong in the front court. Because we haven't really gotten better. It is optimistic at best to say we are a better team.. We lost our best rebounder. Al's game isn't taking on big body's? The Knicks are better. There are a lot of reasons we aren't guaranteed 48 wins. What depth do we have if Isaiah is hurt?
We all want them to be a better team. But are they? Is Al Horford going to be motivated? He came here to play with Durant. How is David price doing this year ? There are no guarantees..

I will have to respectfully disagree that we haven't gotten better. Also the Bricks are still terrible because they added a guy with two bad knees that is now getting tried for rape in Rose, Noah is coming off an injury who plays with a lot of heart, but really isn't a very good basketball player and Melonie is a volume shooter who is very inefficient that doesn't play defense or rebound. If the Bricks make the playoffs and that is a big if, they are a 7 or 8 seed who will get whipped in the first round again just like every year but two in Melonie's career in Denver and NY. I am not a Red Sox fan, I am a Royals fan and knew that Price was overrated. He is terrible in the playoffs and tips his pitches. KC figured out when he was going to throw his change up last year and that is why both HR's that he gave up when KC eliminated Toronto last year were on change ups. He was taking a second deep breath before throwing it every time even though he only threw his change up 8% of the time. As for injuries, you can say that for every team if one of their all stars get hurt so the question is irrelevant. What happens to the Cavs if LeFlop gets hurt? They are not even a playoff team. Can GSW still win when Curry inevitably gets hurt again? I would say yes in the regular season, no in the postseason. Especially now that they don't have anyone to protect the rim.

How has price been this season vs his regular season numbers? Can't compare apples to oranges..lol..
You can disagree and you did so respectfully. This team as constructed present term is not a lock for 48+ wins.
Did you give your prediction on wins? I hope they improve that front court. And not with a slow footed 7ft three point shooter.

For me, what this team needs most is a transcendent superstar player, regardless of position. A LeBron, a Durant, a Westbrook, etc. Those are the guys that win a team titles. This team has plenty of nice complimentary pieces right now, we just need a superstar player (or two).

Price was signed to help win a World Series, my point was that he isn't going to do that because he stinks in the playoffs. Not to mention he is playing the a division full of small ballparks which will make anyone's ERA go up. Yes I did give a prediction for wins after Al was signed and I said 53-55 wins.

I agree that the front court needs to get stronger and Danny as much as said so. I've been watching the Larry Sanders rumors and he is talking about making a comeback and if he is serious and still can play he would be an interesting addition and would definitely give us a stronger front court. I can see a Horford/Sanders front court that could be very nice.
But Danny would have to make a 2 or 3 for one with the chaff at the end of the bench to bring in any other player. We have 18 under contract now and I think 16 of those are guaranteed.

I am intrigued by Sanders also.. The best kind of trade. Four junks for a star.. Lol..
There are other options. I hope we make it a priority.. Love is a good rebounder shooter.. But soft.. Why can't we find a athletic guy who can shoot. Like a marriage of Dennis rodman and Steph curry

Didn't have the option I was looking for. We need a shooter and a better defender in the frontcourt.

Not sure what "win" means in this context. The title? You can forget about that this year. As far as the rest, I guess I'd vote for rebounding, but it's not like we can't get better at every position. We have a bunch of good players, but no great players, so no one is untouchable and no position is set.

Didn't have the option I was looking for. We need a shooter and a better defender in the frontcourt. OK. To me win means go above last years win total. Be above a average .500 team.. My fear is we may regress with the chemistry we have to develop.

Many would look at the roster we had last year and would not have thought we could have won 48 games. We just don't have many upper level talent.
But with Brad at the helm, with the hard work our players put forth every game, we somehow get it done, in spite of what conventional wisdom says.
We may not have an elite rebounder, and we may still be searching for that sharp shooter. But we're going to find ways to beat teams again this year.

Darren what position do you want the sharp shooter to play? And who does he replace?
Durant spoke out and said one of the reasons he didn't choose Boston was he didn't want to be a shooting guard.
I wonder whether lineups were discussed at that meeting.. And a subsequent question is how offensive do you think this team should be? We have Isaiah who is a scorer with poor defense. And we want to add another? Shooters who can defend are rare? Butler,?
It seems to me that definition of things is the issue.. We say we want a better shooter. Which sounded good when Danny said it but where is player playing. What is the focus .. Improving our shooting percentage or defense?, Danny was a good shooter. Scrappy.. But defense? Lol.. Listened to a video of him trying to explain how to defend the pick and roll and bird sat there and laughed at him.. And then said the right way is.....
Did Danny somehow begin to love defense?
