I just copied this from RealGM, from one of their moderators named Smitty. Some people doubt him and his sources, but I don't know, the guy seems genuine and I can't see why he'd purposefully lie and make up these tidbits.
Here's what he recently said, regarding a trade for Westbrook:
Ok another source called me back, I confirmed the trade I posted and he said he's heard slight variations, but the basics are there. He said Boston would follow that up with an offer to OKC that is:
Jerebko, Smart, Zeller (in an adjusted deal as a S&T where only year 1 is guaranteed), rights to Brown and the 2017 BRK pick, the future MEM pick, and maybe another pick for Westbrook
Would you guys do this?

In addition, he mentions that there's ongoing trade talk with the Clips (and possibly the Kings) that would land us Griffin and Pierce. Basically, Amir, Rozier, Hunter and Hunter (or Mickey).

No. Westbrook would have to be signed for 6 years.. That's to much.. Would you do it?

So in this trade scenario, we get Westbrook, Kyle Singler, Blake Griffin and Paul Pierce. But here are the players and assets we'll be losing.
Amir Johnson Marcus Smart Jonas Jerebko Terry Rozier Jaylen Brown Tyler Zeller Jordan Mickey James Young RJ Hunter 2 1st round Brooklyn picks Memphis future 1st round pick
To sum it up, we're losing a starter (Amir), 4 rotation guys (Smart, Jerebko, Rozier, Zeller), 2 potential rotation players (Mickey, Brown), 2 guys who may see very limited time (Hunter, Young), and really high draft picks.
That is a whole lot when you look at it!!
But this is what our lineup will look like
Westbrook Bradley Crowder Griffin Horford
6th Man: IT
Demetrius Gerald Pierce Singler Olynyk
We'll need to add a couple more veteran pieces, I'd assume. But that right there is a team that can compete.

A one year rental team? No draft picks?

If we can assemble that team, it'll be appealing for Westbrook to re-sign with us.

If we can assemble that team, it'll be appealing for Westbrook to re-sign with us. Have we not learned anything from Durant's rejection? 1.chemistry.. What if he and griffin don't like each other.? 2. Westbrook loves the spotlight.. He has any place to choose 3. If you don't win it all this year. And lose both those players.. Which is a real possibility. How's that gonna feel especially if you see another team drafting in the lottery . oh yeah like the Nets..

It'll definitely be a gamble. And I wouldn't want to make this trade without a promise from Westbrook that he'll re-sign.
If he's not, we're going to have to redo our offer. Presti must realize we have the best package to offer him, but without an extension, we cannot offer our full package.
Maybe we hold onto the Brooklyn pick, or Jaylen Brown.

My first reaction is that I'd rather stay the course and add to the team via the 2 Nets picks. We're gonna be a 50 win team that in the next two years is going to add what may be 2 really high draft picks, AND still have money to spend in free agency. That's a great place to be. I could give up some of the guys in that trade without thinking twice, but overall it feels like too risky a bet.
But, IF Griffin got a clean bill of health AND Westbrook gave a guarantee that he'd stay, then I'd have to consider it. You'd have a Top 5 player, another who may be Top 10, and still have Thomas, Bradley, Crowder and Horford. We'd definitely be better next year. It's just hard knowing how highly to value the 2 Nets picks. I'm still leaning toward staying the course, but I have to admit it's interesting.

And that's what I keep going back to. Will Jaylen Brown, or any of the future players we draft ever reach superstadom like Westbrook? Will they reach the status of Blake Griffin?
Odds are against them doing that.
So if an opportunity arises where we can add both Westbrook AND Griffin, in their prime (as you said, possibly 2 top 10 players) and we can pair them with All-Stars Horford and Isaiah Thomas, while still holding onto defensive stalwarts Jae Crowder and Avery Bradley, that will currently be your best bet for contendership.
Brad Stevens will have 4 All-Star caliber players to work with, including a superstar!!

OK. Please forgive my ignorance but it seems like the way that trade was explained ok gets a lot and the clippers not so much..
I agree we don't know what those picks will net us..But since we will then lose all our draft. All our flexibility it seems ..(cap),, We better be right and win it all..
On paper that's a great team..

OK. Please forgive my ignorance but it seems like the way that trade was explained ok gets a lot and the clippers not so much.. I agree with this. All the supposed Clippers rumors have them getting very little in return. I can't imagine some other team wouldn't make an offer that would trump these rumors. Also, I still say any trade for Westbrook will include Isaiah Thomas. They seem redundant together. And Isaiah is gonna be getting max or near max money in two years, and that would be a poor allocation of resources for us.

In a supposed trade that involves the Kings in a 3 way trade with us and LA, the Clippers are receiving Rudy Gay, whom Doc really likes, and wants.
Keep in mind that the marriage in LaLa Land isn't so wonderful. There's been times that CP3 and Griffin weren't on the same page. Add to that, that when Griffin went down with his quad injury, the Clippers played well without him, giving them reason to believe they can live without him on the team. If they can add a bonafide scoring wing like Gay, they may be tempted to consider trading Griffin.

Darren lol..
I didn't say that.
Can you give details on these trades?
I think that OKC is gonna want Thomas. They need a star.. I would not trade him for a rental. He is cheap.. Has flaws.. But can score..

To have 2 guards who can play the Point, who can attack the basket and score, and kick out for assists, I see that as a good thing, and I lick my chops thinking how Brad Stevens can utilize them. Plus, Isaiah did well playing off the ball last year too. He's good at the catch and shoot, and sliding over to open areas behind the arc.
