I'm going to bump this thread because there's a chance that Smart is going to make me sound very foolish.
I claimed that he probably won't improve his shooting numbers much at all. But over the summer, he reworked his form (which looks much more compact and efficient -- so different from the one he had since back at OSU) and in the videos thus far of him shooting, his shot looks better and repeatable.
I will sheepishly admit my foolishness if Smart turns out to be a consistent shooter.
But we'll have to see if he can continue shooting his new way. Its easy to revert back to your old form because of muscle memory.

I would say that the fact that he completely rebuilt his shot supports your original insight. Apparently he, presumably the team, (as well as some of us) knew that a change was in order if he was ever going to be a good shooter.

The good news is that he seems to be coachable. Thomas is working on his body, diet. Rozier seems to be really hungry..
Imagine if Walker had put in this type of work.
Darren isn't it great to be wrong sometimes.. Smiles

Good thread/analysis. I am not expecting Smart to improve his %, however his form isn't bad and I do not understand why his shooting % is low.
