The talk around town is the Celtics are in trade discussions for Blake Griffin and Jahlil Okafor.
Since Horford already fills one of the frontcourt positions, which of these 2 players will be a better fit alongside him?

It seems we're building a team on speed (Rozier, Brown) and, assuming good health, Griffin fits in with that better. I keep hearing the term "Pace and space" to describe the style Stevens wants to play. Not sure Okafor fits with either one. But I admit I haven't seen that much of him.

Pace and space sounds like bender.. I kept hoping that we were drafting for another team.. I have grown to like browns upside..
I want a lean mean rebound machine.. Pick and roll savvy..

Asking price for Griffin is way too much to give up. He has health questions. Griffin injured his quad on Christmas, played in the playoffs knowing he could aggravate the injury and aggravated the injury. He received bone-marrow treatment after the season and will miss the Olympics. Having to receive the bone marrow treatment is pretty serious. He wasn't the same player after he came back from the injury last year. His game is based a lot on his athleticism and it just wasn't there after the quad injury. I'd be very careful giving up much at all for him, even if he is willing to sign an extension.

When you lay it all on the table and examine the pros and cons, I don't think Griffin is worth trading our assets for. If the asking price for Okafor won't affect our core, or our future all that much, he's probably worth it. On a team needing more offensive punch, he can provide it.

I agree Derren. I'd rather Okafor then Griffin. We aren't in a win now or else position. We can afford to take a player like Okafor who may peak in a year or so. We won't win this year but with enough young talent we could be a contender in a year or so. Don't give up too much to try to win now that will affect our ability to win several years down the road.

Celtics ownership were the ones saying fireworks. They want a star for all the revenues one brings. I like okafor.. But could live with griffin if the price wasn't to high and he's healthy..

Since these rumors, or whatever you want to call them, constantly resurface, to me this indicates that there's mutual interest from both teams to get it done. They just can't agree on the trade packages.
Danny needs to hold tight and not flinch. We don't need to make this trade happen (and neither do they, for that matter). See if they will flinch and give in to the offer Ainge is willing to do.

Do you have a player and plan that you can elaborate on Darren?
Do you think the next step is more front court help or should it be a point guard? I want both.. lol

Not my ideal plan, but one idea would be to get Russell Westbrook with our Brooklyn draft picks (and yes, we would need to part with some of our core players), and then see if we can pry Okafor at a bargain price (future draft pick, and a none core player).
IT and Westbrook in the backcourt Crowder at the 3 Horford and Okafor in the frontcourt
