The new rule is at the 2 minute mark of every quarter, you cannot intentionally foul off the ball to send a poor free throw shooter to the line. Well, you can still do it, but the team gets to shoot 1 free throw AND they get possession of the ball.
I don't know, this rule kind of protects poor free throw shooters. I mean, this is a strategy that teams rightfully abused. If you got a guy like DeAndre Jordan, who can do so much damage as a lob threat, as a shot blocker, as a rebounder, etc, this is one way the opposing coach can even the playing field.

Not a fan. If a team is gonna march out some player that can't shoot FTs, the other team should be able to penalize them.

Teams had guys jumping on DeAndre Jordan's back when he didn't have the ball. If they are gonna abuse the rule that way I'll abuse it back. I'm sending someone out there to give Nerlens the single hardest foul he ever had or could ever imagine and then I'm gonna let him know why. Problem. Solved. Hey. It's the rule.

Purposefully injuring someone should get someone ejected and suspended. That's not what we want.
But fouling a poor free throw shooter, especially when this individual is such a huge advantage for the other team, is good strategy.
The only reasons why they made these changes is because it slows down the game, and it forces good players to sit on the bench during crucial portions of games. But hey, if a guy can't shoot free throws, that needs to be exploited.

I accidentally set a hard moving pick. It's the rules. I can't help it if it comes off like the old Kevin McHale.

Oh yeah, that's right. Hitting someone in the "you know where" isn't a foul in the NBA. Just ask Steven Adams (looking at you, Draymond).
