I really would like to know the real story behind Sullinger, which has been spun a few different ways by BOS management, Falk (his agent), and Lucas (his mentor). $6-million is low. Heck, Humphries got $4-million.

The gist of what I'm reading is that Sullinger just wouldn't listen to anyone consistently about what he needed to do to get and stay in shape.

Or is it like the red Sox propaganda? There is always 2 sides to the story. The Sox are famous for leaking b.s. stories to make their side look better..

Even Lucas who worked with him last year said that he just won't listen. When Lucas called him up after the season he said he didn't think he could go through all that work again. Without the work and the conditioning and the diet changes, Sullinger could very well ruin his career. I really hope he figures out what he needs to do and do it because I like Sully and he has a lot of promise.

I liked Al Jefferson. I liked sully.. Why can't Boston develop young big men?
I know we got Garnett for Al. But I think we gave up to soon on sully.

We developed Big Al pretty good. Came in as a raw high schooler, and we developed him enough where he became the centerpiece of the trade package that got us a future Hall of Famer, Kevin Garnett.
Now, Sully? We tried. But it's hard when the player doesn't have the drive in him to maximize his potential.

Deren I disagree. Hear me out? Rebounds are one thing. Desire? Hard work? Why not accept his body for what it was? There are a lot less productive players making a whole lot more,..
Maybe I am not listening. I just think we try to make people fit our mold. If they don't, we label them as unmotivated, lazy.

And maybe having al as competition would have motivated him.. Some guys aren't leaders.. And having a big guy with a work ethic may have motivated him?

When a guy can't play late in games because his conditioning is poor and he's winded, that's not good for the team. There aren't too many basketball players who can survive in the NBA being that out of shape. Conditioning is very important.

I really liked Sully. He was a very good rebounder andI would have liked him to have worked with the Celtics. Danny gave him an ultimatum last off season to get in shape. He spent all Summer with John Lucas and put in the work and I thought that he got it. He didn't look that much difference when he came into camp but his conditioning seemed to be much better and he played really well. But as the season wore on, he struggled more and more and by the post season he seemed really to be out of shape and really struggled. Then after the season Lucas contacted him to come work again and Jared said he didn't think he could put in all that work again this off season. Those are red flags. Maybe the trade will shake him up and he will put in the work needed. I hope so, because as I said, I like Jared.

Ok. So we dumped him because he's a good rebounder that can only play a certain number of minutes a game.
At his salary would that be a good backup for horford?
And who knows if being with al would have helped him.
I know it's all second guessing but we need more than Al .. my fear is that Danny doesn't see that and loads up on more soft Kelly olynyk type.. like Kristch
