Jared Sullinger has signed a one year deal for $6 million. He already posted "We the North" on his Twitter. Celtics will miss his rebounding unless they bring in someone who can crash the boards like he did. I wish him luck. I know a lot of fans soured on him but I like him.

I liked what he brought also. Rebounding is effort. At 6 million that's a bargain. What was the qualifying offer which they renounced. And why?😠Ainge has a free pass with this town. I think it's time people call him out. What good is it to have assets if you don't use them.. I thought the whole all in for a prayer at Durant was boneheaded.

For sure I liked the guy. Liked his one handed rebounds. Liked him much more than Big Baby Davis.
Good luck Sully.

I think the qualifying offer was around 4 million. I do think the Celtics will miss him. Not sure if maybe Danny saw a problem with his conditioning again and wanted to cut his losses or maybe needed the space for a trade.

I sure hope Danny isn't chasing the moon again. I can't really think of any player that truly excites me. My belief is that we needed more post play and rebounding not less lol.Just salary dumping is risky. We just made Toronto better.

Time to get Okafor

Okafor is still a possibility. Philly does need to trade one of their bigs. Okafor has been the one mentioned most, but Noel is also a possibility.

Out of Cousins, Blake and Okafor, Okafor would be the cheapest to acquire. But he's also the least proven, the least versatile.

I'd be fine with either Noel or Okafor, but as a Duke fan much prefer Okafor! Cousins would be cool but I think it will take a lot more to get him. Perhaps more than he's worth

Did you watch a lot of Okafor in college, texan? Do you think he can become a star? I really haven't paid much attention to him playing. But I figure that there has to be a reason he was picked that high. Same with Noel. And both would be cheaper than going after Cousins as you said. I think both of the young guys might fit the culture of the Celtics better than Cousins also. Cousins is already a star... will either Okafor or Noel reach that position?

I've watched enough of him to get a feel for his overall game. He does have scoring talent because of a combination of things:
-size and lower body strength -foot work -really strong hands -feel around the rim -touch on his shot -back to the basket moves -face up game -use of backboard -gets to the free throw line
All these indicate to me that he can perennially be a 20 ppg scorer.
But he doesn't come anywhere near Cousins in terms of all around productivity. Cousins rebounds in double digits, and averages better than a block and a steal per game. He really does it all from the 5 spot.

I love back to the basket play, so I'm a sucker for Okefor's game. I'd love to get him, but I wouldn't put any of the Brooklyn picks up for him.

Plus Okafor would be more likely a player for a player trade or at most 2 for 1. The same for Noel. They are both still on their rookie deals. Philly definitely has a glut of centers and would be happy to get a wing in exchange. It may take one of the Brooklyn picks - hopefully the 2018 pick. I'd keep next year's pick because that draft seems to be shaping up to be a good one and Brooklyn should still be terrible next season.
