Say Philly, in desperate need to move one of their young bigs, drops the price for Okafor a notch, say they are not asking for the Nets' draft pick.
What are you willing to offer them that they'd realistically agree to? Be fair -- they're not going to take James Young + a future second round pick.

I'd offer our 1st rounder next year (Cs not the Nets), 2nd rounder, Jordan Mickey and James Young.

I'd offer our 1st rounder next year (Cs not the Nets), 2nd rounder, Jordan Mickey and James Young. The Nets pick will be the only one we have because we only have the right to swap with them, so they will get our pick next year. In 2018 we get to keep ours and get theirs again like this past draft. That is how they got around the rule where you can't trade first round picks in convective drafts.

Smart, Young (if they want him), RJ Hunter, various 2nd rounders. Our own 2018 pick.
To me Smart for Okafor straight up is not too bad, so I'm not going lots further than that. If they want so much more than that then we either have to get something else back or they can take Rozier or they can just have a million bigs and see who they can resign. I'm not going through pain to get Okafor.

I've been entertaining the thought of Smart for Okafor.
I'm not concerned over Okafor being an old school, interior clogging big man who plays an archaic style of basketball. That don't bother me because for all intents and purposes, he's basically a better version of Jared Sullinger. No one seemed to mind Sully getting us points down low, and being a big body in the paint, and being a solid rebounder.
But doing this trade does take away a terrific defender in Smart (which right now is his main contribution).
But with Avery, Rozier, and Demetrius Jackson, we have some young defenders biding for their chance to play.

I think that's a risky option for us. Making Philly better .Maybe us. I would love to move on from smart.Good player.. Not enough to make you a champion though..

I really want to keep Crowder. His versatility and ability to guard pretty much anyone, plus his strength to be able to capably play the 4 in small ball is valuable. Maybe trade him for a super star but Okafor isn't a super star. Plus he's still on his rookie contract and so making less than 5 million. A player for player trade with a pick for sweetener - Maybe the 2018 Nets or Celtics pick. Or maybe a couple of seconds.
