Should we make a trade to free up the logjam we have in the backcourt. We have Isiah Thomas, who is a fixture and guaranteed to play 30+ minutes. But in addition to him, we have 3 guys who are 6'4" and under who should be deserving of playing time.
Avery Bradley Marcus Smart Terry Rozier
Bradley has been the most consistent of the three, and is the most experienced, and is an All-NBA defender. But he is also the weakest ball handler, and he's too short to play the position Brad calls the wing (SG - SF).
Marcus Smart is the tallest and the strongest of the 3, can defend the most positions, but is the most limited of the three. Doesn't have the speed to get by defenders, has little creativity with the ball, and is currently a terrible shooter.
Terry Rozier is the youngest of the three, has the least experience, but has the most upside. Can do it all (handle the ball, shoot the ball, drive with the ball, defend). In time, I think he will push Bradley and Smart for playing time.
This is a bit too many players to juggle at SG.
Do you think we should move one of them and look to see if we can trade for a different position that we need help at?

I think Smart and Rozier can both play PG, so there isn't a big need to get rid of somebody. I'd say our main 3 guard rotation will be bradley/smart/thomas, with rozier getting 10-15 a game.

4 backcourt players isn't that big of a logjam if you consider that there will be injuries along the way. Smart can play the 3 some in small ball which makes him the most versatile. He even did a pretty good job of guarding LeBron when he had to. Demetrius Jackson looked pretty good in SL play and he may push to stay around too. In that case there would definitely be a log jam. Jackson should stay with the Red Claws if he doesn't join the Celtics now. He shows promise.

We also have Demetrius Jackson to throw into the mix -- he's looking like a veteran calming piece out there in summer league.
What I'm pointing out is we have other areas that could stand an upgrade, where we don't have much current depth, which is the 5 spot. Maybe we use one of our backcourt players to bring in a good big man?
I'm hoping Zizic can be a good one, but we won't know till he starts playing. And I'm not much of an Olynyk and Zeller fan (too soft for my liking).
