Horford relented on the late Hawks push, and just notified the Celtics that he plans to sign a max deal with them.

A definite upgrade. It's hard to believe he's a $28 million dollar per year player, but if that's the going rate, that's what you gotta pay. Now we'll see how the rest of the dominoes fall in the Celtics frontcourt.

Couple of months ago, Toucher and Rich had Ainge on their radio show, and they flat out asked him if he would overpay a player if getting that player would lead to getting a superstar. Ainge replied yes, he'd do that. He just proved it, though you could say paying this much for Horford is not overpaying -- its the new NBA. |

Gotta give us more comments than that!! haha what else is there to be said! we finally have our 5 slot sorted. its been so long since we've had stability at the position..a revolving door or centers that are either offensively inclined or defensively inclined but never both. now we have one that does both AND is a good passer to boot! I'm just very glad ainge didn't bite on the sixers offer of either noel or okafor..didn't fancy either of them..i actually like the brown pick even more now with turner gone. |
